Spotify removes music by pro-war Russian singers
The removals impacted the band Lyube and singers Grigory Leps, Oleg Gazmanov, and Shaman, who sang at a concert in Moscow in September 2022 in support of the illegal annexation of Ukrainian territory.
Saw a YouTube video of a guy who showed the lyrics on some of these songs.. good that this gets yeeted off of Spotify.
...what was in them?
It is a pro Ukrainian Youtuber that translated the lyrics to show how vile the rap is. It is vatnik gangster rap, glorifying the SVO as they call it, rapping about shooting zombies and using grad systems.
My link got deleted, I apologize to the mods if this breached etiquette. I watched it and wanted others to be aware of the nature of this kind of music and why it is good it was kicked from Spotify.
I want Spotify to add an option that let me opt out of russian music recommendations. I only listen to english or ukrainian music but the algorithm wants me to listen to russian musics. I am really sad because i enjoyed discovering new music by using the radio feature.
