NEW: Lunchables could be poisoning kids with dangerous levels of lead, phthalates, and sodium.
But they’re still getting served in schools across the country, making Kraft rich.
Because Kraft has spent $5 million lobbying the USDA to get lunchables in schools.
Lunchables don't get served inside schools, school lunches are made (poorly) by cooks, they may be getting sent to school by parents but the only thing pre packaged at school are milk and fruit cups. This could be solved in a hurry with universal free lunch.
I haven't seen it in person, but one of my kids lunch options is a "turkey and cheese bento box" that sounds suspiciously like a lunch able. My state has universal free lunch (and breakfast! Which is equally as vapid, nutritionally)
