Windows 11 24H2 lets you create TAR and 7Z archives without third-party apps. However, you don't have to wait for version 24H2 to get that feature. Microsoft will soon bring it to 22H2 and 23H2.
It's about time Windows is finally dragged into the year 2014 with this feature. MacOS and Linux distros have been able to unzip tar files without additional software for ages.
Ah ok. I'd read before that 7z archive extraction became possible in Windows in the past year, but silly me had assumed that that would have included archive compression too, but actually it is about to come now as a feature.
what year is this? I have had to add this from like xp on, then I was just like 'Imma ganna just use linux for any real work'. Now even for gaming its like, why even bother, they are at every step trying to bilk me for cash or taking away features. Quit letting red line go up people run this company into the ground if you can see the writing on the wall.
