You don't need signs, you just watch for the person with a look of constant certainty they will need to administer meatball surgery in the coming disaster.
What disaster? They don't know either, but they're ready.
Note: I came across this via the all feed, I'm not a firefighter, but some of my family is (as well as EMTs), and I interacted with plenty when I worked at the hospital.
