It's wild that Republicans are trying to impeach Biden while simultaneously insisting that Trump should be immune from crimes committed while in office.
I get that impeachment isn't a legal process, but the idea that they wanna open that door just to save their guy - and still pretend like Biden is a criminal and that should matter to voters - should tell anyone everything they need to know about the party.
Republicans are no longer a legitimate party. If someone tells you they are republican probably best to avoid talking to them about politics. It means your friend or loved one is either stupid or a racist sexist homophobic piece of shit. You have to love them anyways, but just best not to talk about politics.
And then you go "why do people not vote for my guy :(" when inevitably republicans win. It's because of democrats attitude like this - push away, reduce to "stupid, racist, sexist" and refuse to even give a valid argument.
If you prefer to hang around racists, fascists, misogynists, science deniers and say it's better than hanging with the people at the opposing end because at the opposing end they believe in that one thing you disagree with then no, you don't deserve any consideration.
I wonder how many such descriptions republicans have for you, and how many reasons to not hangout with you they create, as you do now. How about treat people for who they are, don't group into tribes and move everything to the extremes? Not everything is as black and white as you'd like to believe. Not every democrat is a good guy, and not every republican is a bad guy.
There is always an adage, warning or "paradox" to explain everything. I've heard the "penny wise, pound foolish" right after the exact opposite saying which was basically "who doesn't save a penny, doesn't have a pound".
The "nazi bar" is basically a slippery slope fallacy. First of all, not every republican is a nazi, just as not every democrat is violent antifa. All it is, is as I mentioned - tribalism to dehumanize "the other" to simplify a worldview. You don't win votes by dehumanizing people.
No, I am against calling every republican / conservative a fascist. Just as I am against calling every democrat "violent antifa". In your post, you exhibit the exact same thing I am talking about in this thread - reducing a person to "fascist". Especially for stating such simple claims as "don't divide into shitty tribes".
Crazy how quickly someone who refutes generalizations and tries to avoid a polarized view of politics can be considered a fascist in some circles.
The decline of democracy and the rise of fascism might be a big menace in the contemporary world, but the fact that it's becoming impossible to express a nuanced opinion is not far behind.
The thing is theirs are always misrepresentations outright lies or propaganda. Whereas Democrats at least, and I am not a Democrat, tend to be based in reality and facts largely.
The best and only defense for Republicans/ conservatives ever have. Is that "sure. Our policies always focus on and hurt minorities and out groups explicitly. But that doesn't make us bigoted against them." Despite it actually making them bigoted against them.
I think you got this mixed up, they want trump to not have immunity:
In an amicus brief accepted by the Court of Appeals in the District of Columbia on Tuesday, the officials said siding with Trump would "encourage" future presidents to commit crimes and stage coups to remain in power.
I think he was referring to the general republican base / extremist leaders of that base, not the specific Republicans mentioned in the article. This is by far not the most extreme example of cognitive dissonance I've seen from the former.
Isn't Biden a criminal? Arming several middle east genocides, guantanamo still on, covering his sons dirty business in Ukraine... I think the list is longer.
Not that Trump is any better, but let's talk with integrity.
Why should President Biden be impeached for his son’s activities. There has been no credible evidence presented to date over multiple investigations that the President was involved in his son’s business.
I think the GOP is just using this because:
A. They want to save face related to Trump’s impeachments, which were actually warranted. If they make a mockery of the whole process suddenly impeachments don’t matter as much anymore.
B. Members of the GOP are paid by Russia, so anything that makes Ukraine look corrupt and not worthy of funding is good for Russia.
C. People are mad about Hunter’s big dong and that he’s living a lifestyle they don’t agree with because GOP members could only dream of being that free.
I ignore the first two, because it is the Congress that actually controls it.
What about covering Hunter in Ukraine?
did you know that Shokin didn't start the Burisma investigation? or that he did nothing with the case (according to his deputy) during barely a year in the office. Sounds like it was in best of Hunter's interest to keep him
did you know that it was official US stance to have him removed, not only that, but this also was requested by EU, INF and the WorldBank to provide support for Ukraine by them
did you know that Shokin was highly unpopular, and Ukrainians demand his removal, because of not investigation corruption (like in case of Burisma) as well as refusing to prosecute those that gave orders to open fire at protesters during EuroMaidan?
did you know that at the time impeachment pretty much every party was against him and only the ruling party was refusing to move until Biden talk to the president of Ukraine. Once that happened he lost in massive numbers: https://youtu.be/ghCnYboblhU
Read more about it, before you use that idiotic argument.
Great facts, but his son is still living la vida and the father can do anything but allow genocide armstices.
We know that politics in Spain. Dirty business until caught, knowing still you are never gonna sit jail. Father may've stopped him, but in the end it's been for son's good.
Obama promised to close Guantanamo. Isn't it then at least possible for a president? Or why did ppl buy that and vote?
