Yeast is not a plant.
It is the policy of the trump administration that there are only two kingdoms of life
Plants, and Fungi
And yes, due to a technicality, nothing really fits the criteria for one of them.
If biologists were conservatives:
(d) “Animal” means an organism belonging, at conception, to the kingdom that reacts to external stimulus.
(e) “Plant” means an organism belonging, at conception, to the kingdom that does not react to external stimulus.
Perfect!
Right. It's not an animal or a plant, but "plant-and-fungi-based diet" doesn't have much of a ring to it.
