I used to pirate back in the day and the fact that you no longer had updates or fixes was a huge issue. It's actually the number one reason I no longer pirate games. It's not worth my time or frustration to deal with a virus, bad crack or crashing game. Also since I stopped pirating I've had exactly 0 malware/trojan infections.
I pirate all the time. Until recently mostly on public trackers. Had malware once when I was like 12 and that's about it. Sounds like a skill issue.
Also, most cracked games get updates.
I'll name you 10:
Street Fighter 6,
Star Wars Squadrons,
Star Wars jedi survivor,
Persona 3 Reloaded,
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown,
Like A Dragon Gaiden - The Man Who Erased His Name
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Persona 5 Tactica
Dragon's Dogma 2
Assassins Creed Mirage
Hey, I don't judge. I might only pirate media I've already bought (like when I couldn't find my copy of a movie) but firmly agree with Gabe Newell that piracy is a service issue first and foremost. Additionally if you can't own the game you buy I can't view it as stealing. If there is a crack for Civ 7 or Dragons Dogma 2, I'll probably buy a copy then get the cracked version for performance.
