The TNG shot is from the inside of a Dyson sphere somewhere in the Alpha Quadrant, whereas the VOY shot is from the inside of a Starfleet R&D hanger on Earth.

  • Re-used a cave set? I can't imagine what you're talking about.

      • SNW cheats by using a digital set for their alien worlds instead of Planet Hell. Just change the objects in the foreground and swap out the images on the screens behind the actors and you have a new planet. This set is also used for Engineering, with some railings and consoles installed.

        • Yeah, "The Volume" is this era's green screen cheat. It does afford some interesting shots that help the actors react somewhat more believably, seeing an actual projection instead of just green.

          edit: I must note, that whilst in my rewatch of Voyager, I have just this night come upon the very "Plantet Hell" episode of s2e7 "Parturition"
