You weren't kidding 🤣. That is like the anime version of Too Many Cooks.
Hmm, I bet it has more to do with brightness and contrast more than anything else. So, in that respect, CRTs are significantly dimmer than modern LCDs. Additionally, CRTs were just much smaller than most people's living room TVs these days, so it would take up a much smaller portion of somebody's field of view. It's an interesting question though.
I have done that occasionally in the past; go back and rewatch a show after enough time has passed that I forgot most of it. I never watched this show, but have seen the clip of this scene kicking around the internet ever since because of Hayamin's performance.
Mild manga spoilers
There is definite, explicitly romantic feelings at least in one direction between the main pair.

That's the exact same comparison that ran through my head.
I really, really like this manga. So, I am very much looking forward to this when it comes out.
"The Moon on a Rainy Night" Anime Adaptation Announced with Teaser Visual
No date or PV released yet. I haven't found an English source yet, but here is a JP source (edit: ANN source). Synopsis of the source manga from AniList:
> One day, while rushing to a piano lesson, a girl named Saki collides with someone on the street. As Saki collects herself, the stranger picks up the sheet music Saki dropped, hands it to Saki together with a band-aid, and continues on her way—all without saying a word. Saki is left wondering about the identity of the tall, lovely stranger, only to discover the next day that she is one of her classmates at her new high school. The girl’s name is Kanon, and though she is hearing impaired, she refuses any kind of support or “special treatment” from her teachers or classmates. Over the course of the year, Saki slowly grows closer to Kanon and begins to chip away at her cold exterior.
When I saw that title, I knew I had to include the whole damn thing. It's just too ridiculous.

TruckBus-kun claiming victims back then too.
Thanks for sharing!
Really interesting perspective on this issue. Out of curiosity at one point, I got my hands on the porygon episode and the flashing is certainly jarring. It didn't really bother me, but my wife said it gave her a headache (just a minor one, not a migraine fortunately). I had no idea that there was so much that came out of that incident. Really neat!
Wow, that sent me down a rabbit hole of searching. I am old enough to have messed around with lots of VHS tapes in my day, but I was still too young to know what was going wrong with the picture. Reading how Macrovision screwed up the picture through desyncing the scanning explains why some of the "non-authentic" tapes I got never played right for me.
"The Catcher in the Ballpark!" Anime Adaptation Announced with Key Visual, PV
Premieres sometime in 2025. The new PV is here. Check out the Crunchyroll article for more info. Synopsis of the source manga from AniList:
> The setting is a baseball stadium! It's not only the players and spectators who gather there, but also beer vendors, announcers, security guards, and cheerleaders… They come together, work, laugh, and create human drama every day. It is like a town in miniature. Now, why don't you come and become a "resident" at the ballpark!?
At least the kids have some way to defend themselves now instead of having to rely on conveniently placed large pieces of equipment.

I was surprised to see Madoka there, but after thinking about it, she would probably be the easiest person to socially pressure into helping out. I am pretty sure that Karasuno likes Kujaku and that is why she is leaving the stuco. Not sure yet if anyone else realizes.
I was really looking forward to this reunion and I enjoyed it thoroughly. My wife has similar feelings to Kanon, wanting to be more independent in spite of her limitations, and I have to have a conversation like this with her periodically. It usually goes very similar to this chapter; that I will have times I need to rely on her, and I appreciate that she will be there for me at those times. So, she doesn't need to feel bad about the times I am helping her.
Man, I relate to Nagisa so much in this chapter. Sometimes, you just have those days, you know? Wait...do I really relate to sensei instead?
This one had been gone for some time, it's nice to see the TL come back. I have enjoyed this one so far.

"Dr. Stone: Science Future" (Season 4) New Visual, PV
Premieres January 2025. The new PV is here. Check out the AC article for additional information. Synopsis of the source manga from AniList:
> One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he's got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
Japanese puns are next level sometimes. So, if I understand jisho correctly, when it is written in kana (ナメる) it usually means underestimate, but with the kanji (舐める) it usually means to lick. I would have never picked up on the pun due to the writing difference. In the actual native title it is written as ナメる, so that is why the English title probably went with the underestimate translation, but the lick pun is fun.
Glad you are enjoying The Moon On a Rainy Night. I have been really into it since I found it and am glad that I have gotten a couple people to read along with me now.
Yeah, I don't particularly mind this ending either. I mean, yeah, it's rushed, but it's far from the worst endings I have seen. Out of curiosity I went and checked out the reddit discussion thread for the end, and you would think Aka was the stalker that killed all their parents or something.
