Trump planning flurry of executive orders for first day, top aide says
  • The root cause is that people are let off the hook. "Oh both candidates were bad, no point in voting." Hell you hear that crap all the time "republican and republican lite." It's not even close to the truth and people saying it are just giving people excuses for being lazy and letting them off the hook.

I'm not trying to make them hurt. I think they will be by default and deserve to be reminded that doing nothing ensured it.

And if you would read what I wrote then you'd see that I am saying the Dems need to make changes sure but we also need to remind nonvoters they most definitely culpable for everything that happens in this administration. Why are you so averse to that? Afraid they might actually be forced to do some introspection and realize that they are part of the problem? Maybe they'll finally take ownership and actually go vote?

For real- take the L and move on.

  • The Situation: Were the Trump Trials Pointless?
  • I mean, that is at least somewhat fair.

Now, do I think that Biden who apparently did not know, had zero intent, and showed no resistance to getting those documents back to the right place would be charged? Most likely not. But I do agree that justice should prevail all the same.

  • You make excuses for them not voting and absolve them of ownership of the situation. They'll never feel like theyre at fault if you do that. And they should.

And I fundamentally disagree- the party is supposed to convince you to vote for them, not to vote in general. It's a civic duty.

So yes, so long as they never are made to feel they drove the car into the ditch, they won't. So my suggestion is to start making them acutely aware that they are at fault and when bad shit happens let them know that they brought it upon themselves but they also have the power to change that in the future.

  • Im asking for the slightest bit of effort on their part.

But sure, keep making excuses for them and they'll take it. Im sure they'll wake up one day and realize it's all their fault after everyone has continually excused them.

  • Again ?
  • You're ignoring the question. You said it was all up to the dems. I say it's both them and non voters.

You act like non voters had no choice. They clearly did and deserve blame. End of story.

They could've helped defeat fascism at the ballot box but didn't. So yeah, here we are... Because people were lazy. If they don't care enough to vote for "neoliberaal conservatives" over fascism well ...I guess they get what they get.

  • Both. Passwords take up nearly no storage and it's mainly a sync service. Plus if people start to use your other projects they basically wind up paying for it anyway.

No criticism here. I love proton. Great company and great products.

    Bengals lose a heartbreaker

Anyone surprised? Saw that loss coming.

Brilliant coaching to run all 3 downs and trust a long field goal. Playing not to lose surely is the best strategy.

    Bengals win!

    Who would've thought.

How we feeling about Hell is Real?

We're down Robinson and Murphy I believe due to yellow card accumulation. Not feeling great about that.

    Nightly mobile URL bar

Anyone else hate this? I don't want a dumbed down bar. If Im on the homepage, I want to know. Same as if I'm on a subpage.

This is in reference to Mozilla changing the URL to ALWAYS show only the domain. Absolutely terrible IMO. As for the double tall menu now? That is mostly fine.

At least give me an option to see the full url.

Anyone think Urban was better with the pulp?

Maybe it's just me but I feel like Urban Artifact beers were better when they weren't filtered like they are now. Feel like there is a dramatic loss of flavor compared to the pulpy goodness it was before.

    Thoughts on the offseason?

Looks like we picked up a safety, resigned Sample to a 3 year deal, and released Mixon after getting that RB from the Colts.

How we feeling about more signings? Feel like we're short on O-line yet again but maybe they have plans.

FCC move on in the CCL!

On to face Monterey and meet Vasquez again.

    Go FCC!

ODOT put out a newsletter that seemed to strongly encourage public engagement in their project to expand I-475. Yet when this advocate took them up on the offer, she faced barriers at every step of the way.

    Best distro for linux gaming?

Unsure if this is the place to ask or not but figured it was closest to it.

Basically I am looking to make an AIO retro gaming PC. Main goal is to have one simple box hooked up to the TV so my friends and I can game without having to swap discs and consoles all the time. Would probably use mostly DS3 (or 4?) controllers hooked up with USB or via BT.

I know lemmy doesn't much care about piracy but this is all just to play games/consoles we legally own. Would include PS1-3, Nintendo, SNES, N64, Gamecube (think that is all we have).

I think https://batocera.org/ has been mentioned, Lakka (maybe this is more for pis?), and EmuDeck has been mentioned. Basically looking for the easiest distro to throw on a PC with a nice UI (can be launched via kb/mouse, all the same to me) that has the emulators built in and just needs the ROMs.

    Best holiday foods?

Basically looking for the best eggnog, German pastries, etc.

Used to buy hartzel? Eggnog but I'm not sure where it's sold anymore. Any other good places to get German holiday foods other than servatii?

Very long but excellent article. I kinda see why the city is indifferent to doing more.
