I joined this instance because someone I know said it was a "right-wing instance". Then I looked at it and I was like "uh... is it?" It sure doesn't look like it to me. What the hell does "right wing" even mean anymore? I can never get anyone to substantiate what it is. It's just a buzzword for bad meanie people. Can't take it seriously.
I joined masto when it first popped up and I remember this song and dance. It seems to be the main crudgel of federation. A minority of people cannot stand conflicting / differing opinions, pitch a fit, and then begin construction of their walled gardens. These walled gardens soon begin looking more like padded cells as internal division begins to happen over relative irrelevancies. And that's how the cookie crumbles.
