I have really enjoyed Japanese honkaku mysteries. They're based on the classic British mysteries of the 1930s. Not many are translated but I liked The Honjin Murders and The Tattoo Murder Case. Search honkaku and read them for the Japanese take on the country house murder.
The objection people had was with the phrase "out of touch." You used it literally because those people have no ability to get in touch online. Yet the phrasing came across as those people were out of touch figuratively.
I too never go back and check if a post is downvoted. I don't really care about it.
I guess I'm both intimidated and confused as I don't quite understand the fediverse. I joined kbin and everything is very tech heavy and over my head. Every day it becomes a bit clearer, however. I'm not proud of being tech illiterate and want to learn.
