Reddit breaks Law by restoring deleted comments
  • Having deleted my account only for this to happen, it really sucks, because now I have no way to actually get all of my old posts removed. I wasn't even deleting because of the protests, I was just purging an old account before they changed the API and I couldn't use power delete suite.

  • Question About Permanent Facial Hair
  • Electrolysis gets the job done, but it's painful and you have to do a lot of sessions.

If you have pale skin and dark hair, laser works really well. If you get good results, you will still have some hair leftover and some may grow back with time. However, it's significantly less painful than electrolysis, and you won't have to go as often (I went once a month), plus it's over in about five minutes.

Assuming laser is a good option for you: If you have the money or your insurance covers it, then laser into electrolysis can be a very good option, or you could just go with electrolysis right out the bat. If you have financial problems and can handle having to deal with leftover hair, laser will probably work out better for you.

If you don't have the right skin tone and hair color, then laser is not a great option in the first place.

Also, when it comes to anything medical, if it seems sketchy, it's probably best to avoid it. At the very least, check their licenses to make sure they are up to date and don't have any reports made against them.

  • Reddit may be bringing back deleted comments
  • This is messed up. I just recently deleted my account (used poweredeletesuite first to edit all my comments to a ".") before finding out about the API stuff. With it deleted, if they've restored my posts, I have literally no way to ever delete any of it again. It's not the end of the world for me fortunately (it could be bad for some people that may have revealed things that are too personal or could get them doxxed), but there were definitely things I'd like to have removed permanently.

  • Reddit's CEO reportedly told staff that the community's API protest will blow over
  • The CEO is correct. The only thing that might actually affect reddit would be if the major subs purged their entire subs, but I assume this would take time, and they'd probably intervene to stop it. It's one thing to replace the mods, a whole other to have to build the popular subs back up from scratch.

Realistically, nothing will change on reddit. It will keep getting shittier, but most people won't care and will continue using it. My hope is that places like Lemmy grow to bring in a more select crowd of users (i.e., they can actually figure out how to create an account and then use it; not exactly a high bar, but one that is too much for the 'common' user of most social media).

  • Games you didn't like but suddenly clicked
  • Breath of the Wild - I tried a few times, but never made it past the opening area. Once I finally did, I ended up hating the weapon durability mechanic. Once I discovered mods (Linkle and removal of weapon durability), I started to get into the game.

Starlancer - This is an old PC game (~2000?). I'd messed around with it a lot, but one day it sort of clicked with me. I rapidly beat it from there (of course there was the one ship that could 1 shot everything else, which was why I beat it so easily).
