  • A Falcons fan, nice! FTS and FTP my friend.

It's pretty cool we both get a documentary about our teams from Bois. Ours is going to be a different vibe though, you had lots of historic failure and a big tragic moment, the Vikings have lots of historic success but never quite enough. Because of that I don't think it will be difficult for me to watch any of the episodes like it was for you, rather it will be a slow burn of sadness that gradually eats away at any and all hope.

You should definitely visit the stadium sometime, it's massive and one of the nicest ones in the NFL. I got a tour in the off-season, and they let me go into the locker room, the owners box, the entrance tunnel, and other cool places you usually wouldn't get to see.

If I was to travel to a stadium my top pick would be to visit Mercedes-Benz stadium, mainly for the incredible in-person fan experience you've got over there.

  • Thanks for posting, I have so much to say about this.

Jon does such fantastic work, he really is the best sports content creator. In my book no one else is even close.

I do not care one bit for baseball, but his Mariners' series made me care. Next I found myself watching in breathless suspense every time Dave Stieb got close to pitching a no-hitter. This guy somehow even made me interested in athletes named Bob enough to watch two hours about them.

When he did one on the Falcons, I knew what was going to happen, anyone who watches the NFL did. It was that knowledge that made it a perfect tragedy. We all know what happens in that Superbowl, but after spending hours and hours of the series invested in the team, getting to know the players and coaches, experiencing that game hits different. I found myself cheering for the Falcons like I was a fan on that day, while knowing it would all come crashing down.

After the Falcons inevitably lost the Superbowl in humiliating fashion and the series finished, I couldn't help wanting him to give the Vikings the same treatment, but when a fan asked he shot it down, saying our history was "too heartbreaking" and maybe another time. A bit tongue in cheek, but I still had hope he'd do it eventually. But man, I had no idea the day would come so quickly!

Other than a Superbowl, this is the next best thing that could have happened to the Vikings' franchise. That's my honest opinion. If I could get any YouTube creator to do a video on anything I wanted, it would be Jon doing a Vikings documentary. And it will tide me over right up until the first NFL game! Just incredible.

As it is the deadest part of the off-season, here's my favorite Vikings' podcast

Listen to this episode from Norse Code: The #1 Podcast for Your Minnesota Vikings on Spotify. Arif and James are back to talk about the Danielle Hunter holdout and when no news means bad news. We also go over potential replacements, adjustments for JJ moving forward, the perfect fullback, and which...

Where Arif and James discuss the news that there is no news, silly questions, and other random tangents as per usual.

  • I'm all for friendly shit talk, but let's not get delusional here.

I get that expecting Packers' fans to understand how QBs usually develop in the NFL is too much to ask for, but best QB in the NFCN? I understand losing Rodgers is difficult, but there is simply no excuse for this kind of behavior.

So where are we all supposed to go now? - The Verge
  • Crypto does have all those benefits, but without wide enough adoption, there's genuinely nothing valuable about it. Just like real money. It is immune to a certain kind of corruption (manipulating the money supply) but very weak to another kind (making your own worthless currency to scam people with).

Even if we got society to go full crypto acceptance, governments would do all they can to control it. Manipulating the money supply is how you get every politician's favorite thing ever; an economy fueled through the debt of future generations.

The fediverse has the same conceptual benefits and the same problem of needing large groups of people to grow, but there is a big difference: having spaces for online communication not controlled by single actors is valuable in and of itself. Whether enough people find it valuable enough to participate is up to them, but the concept, at least, is incredibly appealing especially at this current moment.
