exponential growth of wolverines
  • It still bothers me 30 years later that in the DC vs Marvel, Wolverine beat Lobo... Shouldn't have happened to someone that beat up Superman because a guy at a bar said he couldn't...

  • Everything Apple iOS 18 Will Do, Android Already Does
  • I know that Pixel 7's and above support it. There are Reddit posts showing they have the feature already. Satellite messaging is just using standard 4G/LTE from Starlink. I wouldn't be surprised if this is only an OS update away for most newer phones.

  • How easy is it to switch back to windows?
  • This is the best answer I've seen in this whole thread. You're right that the key is not needed. Microsoft identified your system components and did the original activation based on the hardware you've got on your computer. All you need to do to bring back a licensed copy of Windows is to reinstall it.

  • Denis Villeneuve Will Stop Making ‘Dune’ Movies After ‘Dune 3,’ Despite More Books in the Series: ‘Dune Messiah Should Be the Last for Me’
  • I don't think I appreciated God Emperor until after my 4th read through of the series. Frank Herbert definitely has a great insight into the human condition. Soul Catcher and The Godmakers come to mind most readily but his entire body of work explore different facets of humankind.

  • I feel like my physiatrist infantilized me today by saying I needed to submit to regular drug tests to get Vyvanse...
  • Based on my experience, this honestly sounds like a VA policy. I'm on Bupropion through the VA (for possibly similar reasons as you'd want Vyvanse) and they are particularly stingy about it, only giving me a 30 day supply at a time.

Even with a different provider at the VA, you may get the same result.

  • House Republicans search for a strategy to avert a shutdown
  • Yes they will get paid eventually. They put that into law after 2019. If you are furloughed, you cannot use leave. Even if you are emergency essential and still working during the shutdown, I don't believe that you can be paid for leave (but you can still take it if it was scheduled before the shutdown).
