It was meant to be a spoof in that it was so on the nose was it not? I enjoyed it with that lense
I really wanted to make a neopets-esque online game but went down the route if a crime game instead. Would love for them to have a proper comeback and see what they do
Just installed this yesterday as a dual-boot. For the most part I'm enjoying it so far, had a few issues before I updated the kernel including no sound but managed to fix that.
Now the only annoyance is that I remote into a Windows 10 work Pc on a multi-nonitor setup, unfortunately Remmina just doesn't handle zoom on a single display well at all and scales every monitor, so have had to start trying to get used to a lower zoom level on my bigger monitor.
I'm currently reading I Robot by Isaac Asimov, it's very well written and I'm finding the dichotomy between such an old view of what the future may be like with the futuristic themes quite amusing.
Would definitely recommend any sci-fi fans give it a shot. It's not nearly at the same scale as our modern day space operas but it's really quite interesting so far.
I've recently decided to get all the achievements for Skyrim which led to me finally completing the main quest (which I felt was shorter than many of the side missions like the college etc) and been enjoying it massively. It gives a bit of direction to a game where there's also something else to be achieved.
Nailed it. Just off the Isle of Skye. Nobody ever believes that there are feral goats 😂
I don't think I've ever wanted to love a game more than Cyberpunk, but no matter how hard I try it just can't seem to capture my interest.
Who knows, perhaps this remake of so many core systems will keep my interest.
I found the online functionality to be really frustrating. Unless you're online it'll kick you out, you then need to wait to reconnect. Also being so used to Pokémon I found the typings to be confusing and not particularly obvious from the look of the TemTems what types they may be.
This all sounds rather negative but I do think it's quite well made overall, just not my cup of tea.
I personally love Torn and play it daily and have done for years. If you want something similar I've been trying to put my own spin on things with Cartel Empire which I've been developing for about 2 years as a side-project.
We've got a small but active community that's constantly growing and I'd love to have more people on the Discord as I try to include the community in as much if the development as I can.
Yeah I heard it was terrible as I'd read the reviews at the time. I mistakenly saw this and thought it was a new game and was sucked in by the trailer again
Not true, I've checked it and I still see a ton of posts in porn subs that aren't marked as nsfw. Not the end of the world but still somewhat annoying.
One I never see mentioned anywhere is Transcendence which is a space rogue-lite game where you cross the galaxy fighting numerous different types of enemies and taking down space stations.
It's free to download on the kronosaur site or like £4 on steam
That looks awesome, looking forward to seeing the reviews eventually
I love the mentions of the npcs blhaving more complexity. The idea of watching somebody make cash at a job to then go buy stuff at a store is very cool.
What's your favourite Cities Skylines map and why?
Figured I'd get the ball rolling in this magazine
A lot of Reddit will go dark soon in protest of API changes
Share you favourite Sci-Fi books and what you loved about them
I've been getting through more and more sci-fi books and would love recommendations on the books you've all enjoyed.
For myself I thought the Xeelee series was brilliant. Taking us from the dawn of time through to the end of the universe and around again. Fighting aliens from other dimensions and the creators of the universe themselves.
Honestly I recently purchased a new RTX 4070 TI and it's absolutely dominated everything I've chucked at it. But it was very expensive for what it was and I can completely understand why people have issues with the latest generations
I plan to next Thursday if there's still not a good one, I'm travelling and the functionalities not quite good enough on mobile
I think it's quite an important point that it only needs to happen once. I've not seen that mentioned anywhere else so thank you
Ah so it is, odd choice but I can understand why they'd do that initially. Thanks Bread :)
Yeah I can appreciate the goal, and I can deal with many of the minor technical issues but this seems like a killer for me personally. The small community is already massively segmented due to the model, and I don't see it getting better if each new person that joins up is on their own random instance and there's no common way to cross them all and to dedupe magazines.
But anyway I don't want to be too negative as I realise this is all fairly new but think I'll leave my account active so I can try this again in a while but it's not for me yet.
How is this expected to become popular if you need to go through all of that? I figured I could just search for a topic then subscribe, but if they're all separate then surely they'll all just become segmented with time and contain duplicate communities in many cases?
