How do you guys grind your coffee?
  • This exactly, except Ibuse a DeWalt. I have found that the brand power tool used has little effect on the taste and extraction, however.

  • This Weeks' Candidate(s)
  • I live pretty close to your area and just bought my first bag of whole bean coffee this week (previously just got pre-ground packages from the grocery). Most of the coffee shops in my area (eTown) use Senergos as their roaster, so that's what we got to start. Excited to try some other stuff regionally.

  • Anyone here still using the OG pixel 1? 👀
  • Decided if I was going to lose all my data I may as well make the most of it. So today I factory reset, rooted, unlocked, and flashed Lineage OS onto it. It's running way better but still lags a lot. Might be time to upgrade.

  • Cutting down a large tree without knowing what you're doing, wcgw?
  • I don't see how he could have survived. But I hope he did for his sake.

  • Simple joy from repairs?
  • All the time. That and maintenance. I got so much joy from finally having the supplies to change my car oil at home.

  • Sometimes it’s the simple things you love. What’s yours?
  • We live in a pretty rural area and take a lot of trips on it. We've even camped in the back with the seats down. It's also the first SUV we've owned and just love the versatility of it. But that part is true of any SUV.

  • I absolutely love our 2013 Toyota Highlander Limited. Have a roof rack on it and it's fantastic at what it does. Just got back from a trip to town with two little ones and a load of lumber on the roof. It's understated styling is just so pleasing to look at and it's really comfortable inside with an amazing sound system. Just all around a very enjoyable (albeit boring) car to own.

  • Good suggestion! Might try that.

  • The A was like the budget one. Specifically I've had multiple cracked screens (never had one on an Android before this phone) and lately it's been unusably slow. Like, can't even swipe down to see notifications or even hit the home button kind of slow Could just be my phone, though. 🤷‍♂️

  • Summer Plans?
  • No liner. Figured it's designed for holding water for cattle all year round so it should hold up fine for the few summer months we use it. Second season for it and only a few small rust spots where we had some magnets holding hoses.

  • Kick Start This Community
  • Central ky here. But sure what my favorite quirk is, though.

  • My beloved Pixel 2 started having charger issues and then my carrier dropped support for it, sadly. Also really miss my red Nexus 5. On a Pixel 3a currently and this thing is the worst phone I've ever owned.

  • Does Lemm.ee plan to de-federate from instagram threads?
  • Agreed. And believe me you, they'll find a way to screw us all over if we give them half a chance.

  • Summer Plans?
  • Yep. Not much, but with the pump/filter and a little chlorine you can keep the water clear all summer.

  • Summer Plans?
  • We got a 10 ft pool and we didn't bury it at all. It's kind of the perfect depth for both kids and adults because as an adult you can sit in it on the bottom with your arms over the side like a hot tub. For little kids, they can reach the bottom so they feel a lot more comfortable. We just got a little Intex pool pump for it and it works fantastic! Once we get it moved into the privacy fence area we're going to build a little half deck/bench around one corner of it.

  • Summer Plans?
  • Same here. And one in a state that outlaws nudism so the nearest places to go are hours and hours away. 😒

  • Summer Plans?
  • Look into stock tank pools. We really love ours!

  • Summer Plans?
  • Bought a bunch of outdoor furniture and we're putting up a tall privacy fence so we can have a little nudist oasis in our yard. Going to also move the stock tank pool close to the patio for some skinny dipping. Going to be a good summer. Will probably have some fellow nudists over for a BBQ once it's done.

  • Working from home
  • I'm full-time WFH and never have to do video (rarely even have a phone call). For me, though, nudity = leasure so I kinda hate working nude. I also can't go nude outside at my house so I have to put clothes on to go let out our chickens in the morning and it's just too much bother taking them on and off.

  • How to live simply with kids?

My wife and I lead a pretty simple life. I work from home at a low-stress job. She is a stay-at-home mom. We have a small house, a garden, and some chickens. But we have a 3-month-old and a two-year-old. Nothing about our life feels slow or simple. On top of watching the kids there's always tons cleaning to do and house repairs and upkeep. How do you balance things that aren't optional like vehicle/house maintenance, upkeep, and raising kids? Is simple living just a luxury of those who don't have kids?

Or are we already living simply and it just doesn't FEEL simple?
