weird on the storage thing, I kinda figured that it would just pull from the original communities instance, though i guess some level of caching would keep a popular instance from melting down.
wonder if maybe it does but lemmy isnt clearing out its cache properly

It doesn't have a ton of content yet, but they have a really solid base to start from. For $5 it's worth checking out
same. when reddit is fun goes dark ill probably quit using reddit. I figure once the api changes happen old.reddit will be on the chopping block to and i refuse to use reddit's new format.

I like the idea of the fediverse, maybe with reddit burning down we'll get enough folks to hit critical mass and it takes off.

I gotta say I'm liking the lemmy experience a lot more than my attempt at mastodon. Though I may have to give it another shake.
