Aren't the things that look like tabs usually buffers anyway? At least on my setup I think they are (been a while since I did my nvim config)
Oh didn't know about that card actually, I'll definitely have to see if I can fit it into one of my decks.
Sidenote: cool that we have mtgcardfetcher on here, definitely makes discussions about cards easier
It's not exclusively for Arena but you might want to check out [email protected], (the instance is also dedicated to Magic so you might find some more active communities on there in general)
I have an Alesha commander deck (like any good trans person) so I'm pretty partial to [[Master of Cruelties]] (although ik it's not really a biggun, it can definitely make a splash)
ooh wasn't expecting anything new from her so soon after The Loneliest Time dropped but it's definitely welcome and I'm really excited
I mean they just defederated from two of the biggest instances (including lemmy.world) and have the largest list of blocked instances of any instance
Not until the definition of the word “of” changes.
Well that's what's happening here isn't it. It's a word that is potentially gaining an additional use as a result of reanalysis. Whether it sticks around long term remains to be seen, but language is defined by usage and it's foolish to pretend there's such a thing as objectively correct. Already the use of the verb 'to have' to form the perfect in this case is quite different from it's other meanings related to 'to possess'. And that's not even getting into you describing nonstandard usage as the result of 'mush-mouthed laziness' which is a whole nother can of worms.
ITT: Awful linguistics takes
People writing of instead of 've is pretty well attested before Siri even existed so I doubt that has much to do with it
Pretty sure it's actually one of those mistakes that is made more often by native speakers than non-native speakers
The other thing is that Discord search is god awful. There's absolutely no way to modify your search for better results, whether that's to require something to appear exactly as typed, or to exclude certain results, it's just you put in the words and hope you get the right thing. Sometimes that works out, but sometimes it will make the dumbest connections and render your search useless unless you want to trawl through pages of crap you don't want. Like I've found out that Discord considers the words universal, universe, and university to be the same...
I am the newer generations though
Is it just me that has literally never heard anyone bring up the colour of bubbles irl? Like I've seen people talk about it on the internet from time to time but never in the real world.
To be honest I haven't played either
I feel like that's kind of biased coming from someone who (presumably at least) natively speaks a language that is very closely related to English. You might tell me that they're still relatively different, and you wouldn't be completely wrong about that, but there are languages that are much more different from English than German. There isn't such a thing as objective difficulty of a language, it's all relative. English certainly isn't easy for everyone.
How is it promoting monolingualism and apparently Alzheimer's to want to have non-English spaces on the internet.
Hate it with a passion
Honestly I kind of like the long matches, but it definitely negatively affects how often I play. For Dota especially it feels like if I'm going to queue I have to be prepared for an hour long game, and while sometimes I actually like that, I'm not always feeling it.
