In my company (not the post author) we are in the middle of a modernization project. This is a nice article about how to structure the events of this kind of projects where architecture is a key element.
It is not the first time I see workflows like this for modernization (it is far more lightweight than what it looks like) and I always found interesting how easy this is to turn from modernization to feature development.
He put into words two something that I think are very surprising when you jump into services and it is the politics. This truly creates a new set of team interactions that can cause a lot of harm. Probably it happens too without microservices but since this opens a new surface between teams this is more evident.

True this. It depends a lot on your budget but the difference in ease of use of an Ender 3 and the S1 is massive. Is is massively easier to get good prints in the S1 when you still don't know the ropes yet.
