Yeesh. I wonder how many people are doing this, renting out their caravans like this.
Well noted film/physical media blogger confirmed the whole thing.
Well you can (and I do) buy digital versions. So no sub required. Or just shop at Amazon.com.
Disney getting out of physical media in Australia
Whoa if true.
Bike riders wear helmets and high-vis vests to reduce their vulnerability on the road. Problem is a new study finds this dehumanises cyclists, putting them more at risk of aggression from drivers.
Promise in Flame by Sarah Hawke (audiobook)
Finished off the audiobook, this the second part of a prequel series to other Sarah Hawke fantasy series.
It’s really been a pretty fun story that’s riffing off House of the Dragon to some degree. And it is a series that feel a bit different to her other works that I’ve read that have been a bit more interested in sexual relationships. Not that this has none of that, just this feels more interested in other aspects.
Now comes the long wait for book three.
Really am enjoying Ellory Lane and Harry Frost as narrators, especially Ellory.
Deadloch is a potty-mouthed satire that is also a feisty feminist take on the more usual gender politics of the Nordic Noir crime drama.
More Legends and Lattes
Tor Books, in the US and the UK, announced the acquisition of world rights to three new novels from New York Times bestselling author, Travis Baldree. The books will be standalone fantasies set in …
I did like that the author got into her head and nature a bit. And having a Vietnam vet dealing with his war past and nightmares was interesting. Really not used to seeing men’s romance having a protagonist having to deal with mental health like that before.
Goetic Justice by Snerk Guy
Trying out the audiobook of this, narrated by Bordeaux Black.
Well…it’s started off like many Romances I’ve read. Partner caught cheating and a messy breakup with the book about the protagonist healing. Unlike most Romance though our protagonist has no support network. He just has crushing aloneness. Till he gets involved with the supernatural at least.
How not shocking. And how not shocking that Labor isn't reversing this as I'm sure all their kids go to private schools. And it just creates a vicious cycle in terms of schools and school resources.
And ah yeah, you can refresh Memmy by clicking and dragging.
I know. I’m mostly just surprised MacOS doesn’t expose a way to refresh. It’s not like that pull down action is uncommon in iOS apps.
Using Memmy on Mac
So yeah, I’m using Memmy as my desktop Lemmy client.
I does work OKish. I just wish there was a refresh button.
I wouldn’t go that far, but things like choc ripple I refuse. Though Id call milk coffee bin worthy.
Dreaming Boy is a Realist
This is one of the new seasons anime’s I am trying out.
Finding it pretty ok so far for a school romcom.
The Scotch Finger deserves more praise.
That list is so wrong.

Foundation S2
Foundation season 2 improves on season 1 with a narrative that eventually comes into its own and feels like time well spent.
Need to finish with Silo first.
It would be nice to see it encourage more local business growth to cater to the transition to WFH. Though that would be more food outlets than retail.
Thousands of Australian public sector staff will be allowed to permanently work from home following a "groundbreaking" union deal — but business lobby groups in one capital city say any move to follow suit at local level would be a "death knell" for CBD retail.
More likely that office block owners are the upset ones.
Sigh. Am I really going to have to run personal instances to not deal with this bullshit.
Just started the Gene of AI. Good science fiction about a AI future.

Being a fan of the anime, hearing about a new series is great. Dunno how I feel changing studios though.
Annoying. I thought this would work to show full articles.
Largest 100 Australian student loan debts revealed
Wow. That’s US levels.
It is weird. I’ve noticed it now happening with my beehaw account too. So weird.
It was pretty alright. It did get into her alien head a bit, which is always nice to see given how frequently beastkin are just portrayed as humans with fluffy tails and ears.
Kind of a dating red flag if your lover is likely to murder you to feed her young after you have sex.
Right. Figured as much. Just found it weird that it’s only affecting one instance in my clients. So till I saw it not affecting the web I thought it might have been server side. Even deleting clients and re-downloading doesn’t fix it.
I just did and there the community list is populated. Weird it’s effecting just the clients and deleting my Aussie.zone profile in them doesn’t solve it.
Seemingly since the upgrade, with both iOS clients MLem and Memmy when accessing my list of subscribed communities it is now empty for Aussie.zone. Deleting and re-adding my Aussie account doesn’t help.
Last of Her Kind by Annabelle Hawthorne
Listening to this audiobook. Excellently narrated by Amber Lee Connors and Kieran Flitton.
It’s about an arachnid beast-kin woman and a Vietnam vet freshly arrived from the war and suffering constant nightmares.
An interesting story so far.
They can all be seen here:

You can add communities via the search tab. I don’t think lemmy supports following users.
Photography community
A photography community would be nice to see. Not that I’m looking to step up and mod it.
Claims agents using clients' homes for sex with junior colleagues.
The proposed Broadmeadow sports and entertainment precinct has been stuck in neutral for six years.
Lost Souls by Shawn Keys
Started listening to the Audiobook.
Interesting to see a Australian protagonist, but man hearing a non Aussie narrator trying to do an Australian male accent is a bit painful to my ears.
