What's something that you wish Lemmy had more of?
  • I wish a lot of the niche communities on Reddit would just migrate already. We are so close, but a few refuse thus far. Otherwise, tech and apps are all there!

  • “Witcher” to end with season 5
  • Thankfully being put out of its misery

  • ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 Part 2 Gets Extended Episode Count, Josh Lucas Reveals
  • I ended up watching 1883 first and was profoundly interested in the story arc, only to be slowly let down after 1923 and watching Yellowstone proper. Growing up on Westerns, I found it to be a unique modern take on the time period. Unfortunately, the rest didn't live up to the same feeling you mentioned.

  • Valve's iFixit partnership is a game changer
  • I literally the dane think and broke the exact damn part. 5 minutes on ifixit. Swoon 😍

  • Lenovo x13s Arm setup with Linux is coming along and can hit those runtimes. Will be slower, but good enough for daily work

  • Replace Spotify
  • I agree. The client fills the gaps of the server side recommendations and filters, but the lack of desktop equivalent is why I don't use it full time

  • Who is the most intelligent main character in a mobster show?
  • It has been a bit since I did a full rewatch, but fair enough. I will add it to my todo :)

  • [AskEurope] Europeans, what is your favorite country of Europe other than your own?
  • Make sure to drop by Bratislava if you are doing the loop! It is often overlooked, but worth the trip

  • Which proprietary software do you prefer over their open-source alternatives, and why?
  • The most recent one is, of course, Sync for Lemmy. It may just be muscle memory at this point, but I find the experience a step improvement in browsing.

On my home server front, I would mention Plex despite Jellyfin's massive improvements over the past 2 years. Plexamp is just a magical piece of software.

For the most part, though, I think I'd reverse the question. Most of the time, I prefer OSS.

  • Welcome to Slovakia
  • Slovakia is one of my favourite places, but I just can't with Kofola. I want to like it as much as I like Bryndza, but alas, a decade on, I cannot bring myself to order it at Obed.
