Oh, I see. I thought they were just ill-conceived recommendations, but they're in fact bad recommendations with nefarious motives. This kind of stuff is really bad for people just getting into actively protecting their privacy......
It's definitely a "he said, she said" type of situation, but I found privacytools.io to be recommending some questionable services and companies (Nord VPN, ExpressVPN, etc). privacytools.io also pushes ads for certain companies, some of which are included in their recommendations. I just trust PG more because their selection process (slow as it may seem) is a lot more transparent and thorough.
I see.... Hopefully, it gets fixed soon. I like pretty much everything about Lemmy so far (light, not cluttered, no analytics trackers, etc), but this bug is annoying...
(fingers crossed)
Ironically, I had my front page opened in another tab. And when I created this post, it popped up on my front page as well XD
Is it normal to see random new posts get loaded on to the front page even when sorting is set as "Active" or "Top Day"?
Hello, fresh new Lemmy user and first-time poster here.
Even when I set the front page to sort "Active" or "Top Day", I keep seeing fresh new posts pop up on my front page (see image).
This happens whether I limit the front page to "Local" or widen it to "All". This also happens across different Lemmy instances, not just Lemmy.world.
Is this a normal thing and supposed to happen?
I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive, but tbh this is sort of annoying....
