syntax to indicate multiple types was introduced in Python 3.10. It looks like you are using a an older Python version.
5k pace is pretty fast, as in you can't comfortably talk to someone next to you. Recovery pace should feel very easy and where you could easily have a conversation with someone. So it depends, but it sounds like the difference could be bigger.
I am generally stronger at the longer distance when I compare myself to my running mates. And this is also reflected in my Garmin race predictor. My 5k is estimated too fast (16.25 vs 17.00), and my 10k (35.30 vs 34.30) and up is estimated too slow. But I also put more effort in improving the longer distance. On average I think it works pretty well, but I find the trends more valuable than actual numbers.
