What are you playing this weekend? 2023-07-08
  • ... I impulse bought the DLC 😅đŸ„ČđŸ„Č

  • I want to try out the Pikmin 4 demo and finally launch Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle. I bought it ages ago, but haven't even tried it yet. I have a disgusting backlog. But this weekend, I want to give my Switch some love.

  • Online campaign management and worldbuilding tools
  • I use Kanka myself. I really enjoy it and love that it does what I need for free. I used to support it with a subscription when I had an active campaign going, but now that it's been dormant, I stopped. That said, I like that it's not necessary to do so to get a great tool for campaign building/management.

Other than that and WorldAnvil, the other big tool I've heard people use is a OneNote file. Not entirely sure how that works, but it's an interesting (and offline) way to do it.

  • Ah, I think I understand now. I think using the "boost" function is most like what I want. Appreciate the information!

  • What Fast Food do you love?
  • I've had both as well and I prefer Taco Bell. But potato olĂ©s are really good. Their burritos are pretty good.

  • YouTube tests restricting ad blocker users to 3 video views
  • Didn't think about or know you could do that. Hmm đŸ€”

  • Alan Arkin, Oscar Winner for ‘Little Miss Sunshine,’ Dies at 89
  • Wow. I loved him in so many things. Huge talent.

  • A very short survey on attitudes towards biological immortality
  • Good survey. Made me think about my views on the topic.

  • Honestly, as much as it pains me to say, I would pay for something below Premium. Like YouTube Plus or whatever. So I could get reduced ads, but not the crazy 3 minutes of ads they'll probably go to. I think Premium is $12 USD a month right now, I would want something at $6 (preferably $5). I don't think it's worth it for me to pay $12 for the amount I watch YouTube, but some of the info on YouTube is worth paying a little something for them to host it. I'm definitely going to start downloading some videos now though in case YouTube gets worse and worse...

  • Is there a way to save or favorite a post, comment, etc. for later on kbin? I don't see it under the "more" menu, but if I go to more>activity, I can see people that have favorited a post. And if you fave something, does that allow me to find it later? Because that's what I want to use it for.

  • Subscribing to the same magazines/communities on Kbin and Lemmy?
  • I think a possible way forward for this that won't necessarily affect federation directly is to allow a user to combine different subscriptions into a custom "list" or custom "magazine"/"community". Then on the user end, it looks like 1 combined feed, but in the back end, it's still just a bunch of federated communities.

  • Steam Deck compatibility with Starfield to be discussed "later down the road"
  • I don't expect it to. It would be really nice though.

  • Trepang2 released on Steam
  • If anyone enjoyed the classic FPS, F.E.A.R. from 2004 and all the bullet-time shenanigans that game had, Trepang2 is a dope throwback to that.

I played the demo quite a bit when it came out and will pick this up once I finally get through Diablo IV and Street Fighter 6 😅

  • Yoshi-P reveals that the team wanted to make a PC version of Final Fantasy XVI but couldn't create an experience with seamless loading in time for launch.
  • I was somewhat excited with the direction of the game when it was announced, but then saw it wasn't coming to PC at launch (but probablyl later I assume like other FF games). So it kind of killed the hype a bit, but I'd still check it out once it hits PC.

  • Starfield's system requirements are pretty odd—don't buy a whole new PC to play just yet
  • @automaticbear Yeah, I just feel like these requirements seem a little half assed, possibly just because they needed to fill that portion out.

  • After the showcase stream, I've been more interested in trying the game out, but these requirements are definitely strange.

Hopefully they release something more concrete soon enough and give folks looking to try it out enough time to upgrade anything if necessary.
