Meta Threads is going to be Fediverse compatible. Meta taking a shot at Reddit?
  • Probably more taking a shot at mastodon and blue-sky. Blue-sky still hasn't actually federated with the rest of the fediverse so I doubt whether threads will actually do what they are saying. maybe they are just using it as marketing. They wouldn't make money from ads if people just used a mastodon instance to follow people on threads.

Personally I think they'd have to charge monthly for their curating algorithms. maybe one day there will be loads of small instances that each have their own bespoke curating systems that you can choose from.

  • i don't like it either
  • I love it. Its like 10 times more refreshing than regular water.

  • You don't hate Mondays, you hate capitalism
  • Why can't everyone get 2 boxes?

  • Triangle (not to scale)
  • Sum of interior angles of a triangle should be 180° so this is not a triangle. It is a square or maybe 2 triangles

  • Triangle (not to scale)
  • My school used to put a right angled triangle in the test and then say "not to scale" and then the angles would actually make it an isosceles or whatever. I agree with you that scale should keep proportions but yeah for some reason It's not common knowledge.

  • I can't code.
  • You sound like a lovely sibling...

  • Hur hurr is surr smurrth
  • This meme is vintage.

  • Bookwyrm - A Goodreads alternative that is part of the fediverse
  • The point of the fediverse in a broad sense is decentralisation. By having bookwyrm as an alternative everything isn't linked to goodreads. If they ever decide to make it paid only or the company goes down, all that stuff is gone. On the fediverse the posts would be split and hosted across multiple independent communities. This make it more robust Imo
