Fellow grey beard here 90's edition, made it up to CTO with CISO responsibilities added on a dotted line to finance and legal so I scurried back down to a comfy Blue Team / Threat Hunt / Investigative role after some years teaching, mentoring, and consulting. My hobbies include horticulture, Krav Maga, as well as network and systems engineering - constantly building something.
I recently took some time off from the world to rehabilitate post spinal surgery which is where Krav Maga came into my life. I needed a way to retrain my muscles and muscle memory. Now I'm a few stone lighter, row for around 15 min to start my day, and dance and practice Krav while jogging in the evening.
Plex rocks, the lifetime subscription is worth it. If you want Roku Apps get a Roku and use the Roku to access Plex.

I try to make sure that I don't need to trust them so I can enjoy them for what they are intended for public communication.
Sure, ActivityPub makes is impossible to delete things, so does the Blockchain, or Usenet, or eyeballs that have processed something.
It's amusing to me that the first entry is "Don't trust any server you don't own" and then people dog pile on supportive remarks on servers that they don't own. :-)

My slipping goal for the past month has been the continued production of a weekly podcast. Nothing long, short form that could be listened to on a train or in the car.
The challenge I'm facing head on is how to make it unique. Sure, I can do NPR reading the news but who cares and who is that, what is my target audience. My simple solution so far is to go back and try to find a style and content that people can't get from a dozen different sources on their phone already.
