Just revealed Bobby Kotick and Nintendo have had active talks about the next-generation Nintendo console, is close to Gen 8 in power (PlayStation 4 / Xbox One)
  • This console would literally be doing what the Steam Deck already does - and likely charging you again for games you've already played. Why are you happy about their complete stagnation?

Looking forward to playing 10 year old looking games from a team (Nintendo) that will no doubt be selling them for $70? There's so many better ways to spend your time/money..

  • I remain forever pissed that the best way to play BOTW or TOTK is through emulation, since they're being held back to consoles that can't play them consistently at 30fps in 720p.

If Nintendo would give me a legal way to play these, I would happily buy them again on PC! I want to enjoy those brilliant games the way the deserve to be enjoyed..

  • NEW - Via an FTC vs. Microsoft exhibit: In 2019, Microsoft mulled trying to buy Square Enix. Unclear at what level this was pitched, but Phil Spencer gave feedback to the internal proposal
  • Wow that Twitter thread was toxic - people pretending like "greedy" Xbox is one acquisition away from world domination, when all the facts have pointed at Sony making game-level deals to continue dominating Xbox across so many new titles.

Of course Microsoft has considered acquiring other studios - that's what happens in the business world: you consider making purchases of other companies/competition to see if they make business sense to do so. Even Sony has acquired Bungie recently to expand their portfolio of live service games, of which they showed off like 10 at their recent games showcase a month or so ago.

  • The Cycle: Frontier will shut down on September 27, 2023.
  • Ahhh, I freaking loved this game (for the two weeks I initially played it).. art style was unique, and the overall vibe was interesting for sure.

Never could get my friends into it, though. Will definitely be sad to see this one go!

  • Day Z 2 revealed by the US Federal Trade Commission
  • In a market absolutely saturated by survival shooters and zombie games, I'm curious what they'll do to stand out! The nostalgic factor is certainly at play (nothing really feels like early Day Z did), but they'll have to come back strong to make it in this environment..

Still curious to see more! Anyone else have crazy memories of the OG Day Z days?

  • CD Projekt: "We need to fix the relationship with our players"
  • From what we've heard, the Phantom Liberty expansion is as much about amending the base game via QoL improvements and UI/AI improvements as it is adding some new story missions and worldbuilding! Skillup mentioned that in his review from being on hands with the game at SGF.

So there might be something for everyone here, especially if they add some depth to the RPG elements and entice us to go back for 2nd (3rd or 12th) playthroughs of the game!

  • Steam Deck hits over 10,000 verified and playable games
  • The Deck movement is also a big win for lower-end hardware gamers, and linux gamers everywhere! Love seeing so many titles verified for those ecosystems, even though I don't currently own a Deck :D

  • My ever growing collecting of Star Citizen 3D prints.
  • Star Citizen is the one fandom that will most certainly drive me to getting a big 3d printer so I can make ALL THE SPACESHIPS irl :D

I've collected quite a few digitally, but I need tangible copies of these beautiful models as well!! Your prints look amazing!

  • Hyper Light Breaker | World Overview Trailer
  • Hyper Light Drifter was far better than it had any right to be, while taking some significant risks along the way. 2d top-down, image only storytelling, fairly unforgiving difficulty - all these game mechanics were new for me, yet made me appreciate the genres they imbodied more and more!

Now, I'm looking at this 3D rouge-like structure thinking "not my usual cup of tea", but the team here has such skill in making brilliant experiences that I know it'll win me over as well :)

    Can't wait to play it!!

  • Mini Modular Network Rack
  • How cool! After spending too much on my (beginners) full sized network rack, there's something so beautiful about the efficiency of a setup like yours!

All the cooler that you were able to print out your own :D

  • Inside Star Citizen: Mission: Cognoscible
  • Exactly what I was thinking!! Finally! Updates to the Trespass system :D Can't wait to be able to keep those pesky pirates off my ship with weapons, instead of just emotes, lol..

Also, that barge mission sounds wicked interesting.. Sounds like some cool missions in the pipeline!

OOP’s dog ate her neighbour’s drone. Neighbour takes her to small claims court which ironically is the best thing that happens to OOP.
  • As a full-time dog dad, and hobbyist drone pilot, I take extra precaution not so spook my pups with the loud buzzy machine I fly around our house sometimes. And since I'm not an absolute dickhead, I don't fly low in other people's property! That parts just common sense.

Good on OP putting the time in and getting some justice in all this :D
