  • It has the same problem as Hullbreacher in that it doesn't distinguish based on who triggered the draws. If I have Bowmasters out and play a wheel, I get to divide 21 damage and make a 21/21. It doesn't promote fair magic, it just promotes a different style of degeneracy.

    It also doesn't force me to punish the person who actually drew the cards, which opens up interesting lines, but again doesn't promote fair magic.

    If Bowmasters said "Whenever a spell or ability an opponent controls causes them to draw a card," it would be much less prone to abuse.

  • Nah, he was always expected to be a one-year rental, same as OPJ last year. If he played well enough to be relevant he was always going to price himself out of a second year.

  • He probably wants a long-term contract and he's more likely to get one at 33 than 34. He's also coming off a very good defensive year, so there's no need to bet on himself with a one-year option.
