Something from the old days
  • I came to terms with getting old a very long time ago. Being able to play games at a high level requires hand to eye coordination and dexterity that sadly degrade as you age. It's not surprising that top players are younger. It's exciting to hear that a younger generation is picking up a game from my early adulthood. What's even more wild are the ones competing in games like Tetris, a game from my childhood.

  • The first game I ever beta tested.

  • Men, are you physically affectionate with other male friends? (eg, hugging, snuggling, playful wrestling, etc). If you aren't, do you wish it was more socially acceptable if it isn't in your culture?
  • Interesting. I come from a family that wasn't very physically affectionate, and I hug most of my friends every time I see them.

  • I started going to raves shortly after high school in the late 90s. The culture is all about love. I hug all of my friends (male or female) when I see them. I tell them as often as possible that I love them too.

  • I modded a scanner to into a camera, this is 'Eik'
  • Pretty much what I expected it to look like! It's really interesting and I bet will make for some fun photos. Basically a very slow horizontal shutter.

  • If you don't work IT, retail, or food service what do you do for work?
  • OP clearly just wanted an excuse to show off their vast collection of response images....

  • That's interesting! I assume you're using some kind of pinhole camera setup that focuses the light on the top of the scanner tray? Would really love to see what the camera looks like!

  • Megachurch pastor and former Trump spiritual adviser admits sexual abuse
  • One admitted it, and one has been convicted of it, so both.

  • Totally not a death cult.
  • They mean blessed as in won it.... I thought he was blessed (laying hands on head like) with his gun. Realistically it could go either way.

  • US surgeon general calls for cigarette-style warnings on social media platforms
  • In Canada the cigarette warning labels had horrible pictures of the damage smoking can cause, and all my friends that smoked liked collecting them like baseball cards.

  • Probably pretty low. Firmament was released a year ago and still doesn't have the PS5 version even though it's listed as a platform.

  • A friend of mine got married in a black wedding dress, it was absolutely amazing!

  • They also can't explain what exactly "wokeness" is.

  • Destroying friendship
  • Just tested in the console, it gives an illegal character error and gives you the line number.

  • In your country, what "common" animals are tourists most excited to see?
  • I have some friends in Australia and I always send them pictures of squirrels when I see them. Got TONS where I live.

  • Youtube Rant from a paying customer
  • Are you using the YouTube Music app, or the YouTube app and loading the music section? I've never seen anything you're describing.

  • USA Lemmies: Where do you live?
  • Oregon here.

Have a lot of friends in the bay area and have visited Oakland a few times. Lovely place. Fuck the haters!

  • Obligatory Aurora Borealis post
  • Probably too much light pollution. Unless you're far away from any light it's difficult to see with the naked eye. Try taking a picture with a long exposure (just a couple seconds should do it). You'll want to be looking North and they can change in intensity through the night but I was able to get some good photos around 11:30.
