Shreddit my account yesterday. Fun time ;)

It looks great but doesn't work because it's not maintained. Cannot add any instances.

Infinity is the sole reason i use reddit anyway. I love that app, if they made it for lemmy.. <3

This is the way.

The host of the instance owns/runs the server for any instance. There is no money to be made. The servers stay up because people donated or the instance owners paid for it.

Edit: the right way of saying it is.. the instances, at least the bigger ones, are crowd-funded.

Ah yes, working as intended. It's probably affecting people more than reddit themselves. Hope the content draught continues though.

Yeah. I don't have the energy to reply or react to trolls. Even in general if I have a difference in opinion, i'll type almost the entire comment and then realise that I don't want to have to deal with the hostility that would follow it. Having opinions and difference is in opinions is too rich for reddit. This behaviour carried forward to downvoting too.

So i replied to my comment from my mastodon account, but that does not seem to show up here. Is that how it's supposed to work? I could be easily missing something here. I know how federation works but.. I've never used it hehe

You're telling me that i could have just.. logged in with my mastodon account? How does that work? (i know its beyond the scope of the guide but i want to try)

Yeah I never really understood downvoting on reddit either. Throughout 6 years I've only had to touch that button like a handful of times regardless of how badly I disagreed with what someone else said.
