Galaxy S25 Ultra ditches S Pen remote features because you weren't using them
  • Maybe if they were useful anywhere outside of system apps, id use it more. You can't even bind it to things like liking a song on Spotify. At that point you might as well just use a smart watch - more convenient anyways. I think the remote button for camera was useful though

  • Good job me boy!
  • You made it to Friday

    But at what cost

  • Canada too. Alberta, anyway.
  • You pay private driving schools to 1) rent a car and 2) for lessons. There are no lessons offered through normal school itself, save for some select places and maybe some colleges.

  • People see kids can be smart because of the end result, but they often dont understand the struggle or effort they have to put in to achieve that. Especially when kids are put into competition against each other in school and they get praised for doing well and chastised for doing poorly on metrics that they fundamently will have problems with (e.g kids woth adhd, autism, etc) or dont make sense. They push kids until their breaking point and then act like its the kids fault for collapsing at the finish line and getting burnt out.

What many people also dont get is that often teaching practices that work well for people with conditions like adhd, autism, dyslexia, etc are also better for students without them. Same for work practices. Its odd to me that we go out of our way to punish everyone for no reason.

The problems I see at work every morning. Truley tiring.

Trump cancels sanctions on Israeli settlers in West Bank
  • Hitler opened the meeting by boasting that millions of Germans had welcomed his chancellorship with “jubilation,” then outlined his plans for expunging key government officials and filling their positions with loyalists. At this point he turned to his main agenda item: the empowering law that, he argued, would give him the time (four years, according to the stipulations laid out in the draft of the law) and the authority necessary to make good on his campaign promises to revive the economy, reduce unemployment, increase military spending, withdraw from international treaty obligations, purge the country of foreigners he claimed were “poisoning” the blood of the nation, and exact revenge on political opponents. “Heads will roll in the sand,” Hitler had vowed at one rally.

    Sounds about right in line

Here are 26 organizations fighting Donald Trump that you can donate to
  • I'd rather see organizations that I can join and DO something rather than give money to. So many organizations will take your money but dont want to talk to you otherwise.

  • The graphics are trash because I have the "Poor Eyesight" negative trait, which requires glasses to see well. I also got the "Hyperfocus" trait which is a mixed bag. Too bad the skill point for poor eyesight didnt get used so now my character's got the depressed moodle and I cant get him to read a comic book or eat food

  • Too bad I needed null modem AND m-m gender changer because the usb serial adapter was male, equipment was female, and the null modem was f-f. Hacked something together in each possible config but couldnt get much more than random bytes during the initial hotplug. I the made sure baud etc matched. Might try later with a different serial adapter

Also the dang usb port needs a custom driver

    I gave up :•(

  • Welcome to my lair
  • Actually they should be connected in parallel. Because tungsten resistance increases with temperature, if one bulb starts out with a slightly higher resistance, it will get hotter faster and you will end up with inconsistent lighting or damaging that one bulbs (if not designed for operating at 120V nominal. 6 ideal bulbs in series would operate at 20V which would necessitate lower resistance and would explode at 120v). The higher temp and resistance would cause it to generate a higher than normal voltage drop/current/power, likely much more than the designed power, and the other bulbs may be much dimmer in comparison.

Also if one bulb drops out / blows it will take out all 6. Either way the power (150W) would be the same.

  • Typical from my so called imaginary friend
  • Im pretty sure this is Love Quinn from the tv show "You." She is like murder people to get what she wants crazy. I guess the expression is more of an "are you sure about that" or maybe something related to whatever scene this came out of idk, we in the same boat here

Or maybe it was meant to be said with the expectation of a "no youre not" and shes upset because she takes it as him calling her crazy

  • YSK If you live in the US, you may have unclaimed funds held by your state
  • Usually this can happen when you are owed money by an institution (bank, insurance, stocks, etc) and you either dont claim it, dont get the check, forget about it, or it happens outside of your knowledge (e.g. grandparents set up an account). In the US, you can usually check with your state's Comptroller's office. For example, NY has unclaimed funds under the office of the New York state comptroller

I'd reccomend going directly to the state .gov website and looking there or making sure you have the state website if following a link. They will let you search by name for unclaimed accounts, and then after choosing the one you want to claim, it will ask for ssn, dob and name, etc. If they can verify that information, you get a check in the mail. Ive gotten a few hundred from old insurance that probably settled some account after I'd switched.

  • FTC sues GoDaddy for years of poor hosting security practices
  • Because theyre a domain registrar, its not the same process for them. They can essentially pay pennies on the dollar to hold them for several months-a year. I'm not sure if they get it back like a deposit, but it costs them almost nothing. You can complain to WIPO but you might have difficulty getting anywhere without suing and showing something trademark infringement (with a registered trademark)

  • FTC sues GoDaddy for years of poor hosting security practices
  • There are things they do that are beyond that, like if you look up a domain on their website to see if its available and it is, theyll essentially register it for cheap and then hold onto it so you can only buy it from them at an upcharged price, and even if you go to another registrar thats cheaper, you cant register it because they already own it

  • Give me some of your hardest riddles? (with solutions in spoilers)
  • spoiler

I think the problem is underspecified: it doesnt define what happens if they get it wrong. If they get it wrong are they barred from exiting? Or can they make a guess every night? Whats stopping them from all saying blue and the boat leaving with 100 blue eyed people on night 1? Or do they only get one guess?

Also it would have saved more people if the guru had simply stated the counts they daw because everyone could count the other people and then see what color was missing (their own eye color) and they could have all left night 1.

  • iPhone USB-C is hackable, but users don't need to worry yet
  • no hacking incidents targeting the device's USB-C controller have been reported yet

extracting the firmware alone won't directly enable cyberattacks

    So there is no hacking...

And the ACE usb ICs are codesigned by apple and TI and manufactured by TI, so yes it is THEIR implementation,

and I was referring to it implying its because its USB C and not because of their shoddy implementation.

Good job being condescending. I'm sure you are great fun to be around.

Get Your ArcheWild American Chestnut - ArcheWild - Architects of Wild Spaces

The American Chestnut was nearly wiped out in the US due to chestnut blight introduced by imported Japanese chestnut trees. Researchers have pursued two main avenues for repopulating the American Chestnut: direct genetic modification / engineering (above link) and cross breeding with Chinese Chestnuts (blight resistant) then re-breeding the result back with American chestnuts. This is to hopefully keep it as close to American chestnuts while also gaining blight resistance.

I've never had chestnuts, even though it used to be one of Eastern Americas most populous trees. I was hoping I could get some and plant them around here and there but we aren't to the point that they're commercially available yet (though available by request)
