Fantasia Review: Dark Forces Are Lurking in 'Black Mountain Side'
This is an older movie, but it's relatively unknown.
I can recommend it if you like The Thing, The Last Winter, The Dyatlov Pass Incident.
Their budget was clearly rather modest (lower production values than the above mentioned films), but I thought they managed to make do with what they had.
This sounds like an interesting movie. Although I would hesitate to call it a documentary.
I can never say no to dystopian cyberpunk media.
For a second, I thought he was working on 1408, the horror movie with John Cusack based on a Stephan King story.
Some Japanese animation that may fit the bill:
- Dallos (1983) - A scifi/political OVA from the creator of Ghost in the Shell.
- Kite (1998) - Action/revenge movie. Includes porn scenes, but IMO this is not a typical "hentai" movie.
- Ninja Scroll (1993) - Action movie set in pre-Meiji era.
- Megazone 23 (1985 to 1989) - Series of scifi/cyberpunk movies. The concept and especially the first movie likely served as an inspiration for the Matrix series.
- Perfect Blue (1998) - An exploitation/thriller that IMO easily beats most Hollywood fare. Was originally supposed to a live-action movie, but they switched to animation because they couldn't get the budget for a live-action movie.
- Vampire Hunter D (1985) - Solid vampire themed action movie.
- Wicked City (1987) - Action/horror with gothic themes and nudity.
Gamers of a certain age might recognize this one.

The rather eclectic lyrics sampled in this track have a rather interesting story to them.
I heard this track on what is probably one of the best progressive mixes ever (I don't usually make such categorical statements when it comes to music); James Holden's Balance 005. It is electronic music generally and DJ production work specifically at its finest.

CG is their sister site. I don't believe they have another sister site.
Like with all private trackers, best route is via invite forums. If you can get into CG, you should be able to get into TVV.
That's the best time to watch body horror movies, when you're still impressionable and have a lucid imagination. 😀
This sounds exactly like my kind of movie. Not to mention it's being made by Bong Joon Ho, made one of favourite movies (across all genres); Memory of a Murder.
While his later movies are excellent (Okja, Snowpiercer, Parasite), Memories of a Murder benefits from a more indie vibe, a less polished presentation and a more eclectic style. Check it out if you liked his later movies (I would recommend watching it in Korean with subtitles).
Nanny director Nikyatu Jusu is on board to write and direct a new take on The Fly that's set in the universe of David Cronenberg's remake
Let's see how those plays out, hopefully it won't be lame.
Btw, if you go in without any expectations, The Fly II is decent. Just don't compare it to the Cronenberg release and take it for what it is.
One of those tracks that's as good as when I first heard it.
I generally dislike musicals (with some exceptions like Dancer in the Dark and Moulin Rouge!), but the Back to the Future franchise seems like a bad fit for a musical.
More so than most franchises, Back to the Future feels very tied to the zeitgeist of its time (80s to early 90s).
Then again, they made Joker 2 a musical (I recently found out about this and had to double check that this wasn't a joke).
If you approach it as an unintentional parody, it can be fun.
I have a feeling this is going to be terrible. Hopefully in a "so bad, it's good" kind of way, but I have my doubts.
Hell House LLC Origins is a return to form of sorts for the Hell House franchise. The first one was excellent, the second and third releases were mediocre. Origins adds a nice spin on the original Hell house formula.
I watched the remake first and I actually liked it more than the original (marginally). The original was great, but I honestly thought the remake was more entertaining (and I have no issues watching "older" movies).
The second one was solid as well, but as often happens with sequels, it didn't quiet match the first one.
That being said, I am looking forward to the third one.
Did not know this was a "Jötunn" specifically, but then again this you don't really need to know this to enjoy the movie.
