I was kinda hoping it'd take Baldur's Gate 3 longer to ruin my life
  • I didn't even have any hype for this game because I don't do anything DnD related and I typically don't like how complicated CRPGs are, but this game has me by the balls and I constantly think about it. I find myself having to avoid some fights even on easy (those god damn phase spiders in the well at the goblin village) but it's so freakin' great either way. I played co-op on Friday with a friend who has been playing DnD for 30 years and he was impressed by my experimentation and creativity which is something I'm usually pretty poor at.

  • You think the next big RPG is gonna measure up to Baldurs Gate 3?
  • Oh yeah I have no doubt that they will be, I just don't think they should be if we're strictly talking about just being RPGs because they're so different.

  • You think the next big RPG is gonna measure up to Baldurs Gate 3?
  • Depends what you mean by measure up. Baldur's Gate 3 is my first CRPG that I was able to stick with for more than an hour and I absolutely LOVE it, and that was before even trying co-op, which somehow made it even better. I'm hopelessly obsessed with it, to the point where I had all Sunday to myself while my wife napped off her hangover, and I opted to try to power through the rest of Final Fantasy 16, just hoping I could get to the end, so I can focus purely on BG3 with all of my gaming time. It would be nonsense to compare this game to Starfield (which I'm also very excited for) because they're such vastly different types of RPGs. I think this game sets the generational benchmark for RPG quality, but I don't think it's even going to be the highest selling RPG of the year if that's what benchmark we're using. I think for now and the foreseeable future it's certainly the benchmark for quality especially when it comes to your choices actually mattering.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3 countdown: Exact start time and date
  • 2 minutes! I've never played one of these games and I'll probably suck ass at it but I want to try all the same.

  • The next Battlefield will ‘reimagine’ the series as a ‘truly connected ecosystem’
  • Agreed, just touch up BF4 and re-release it. Until then, I'm playing Battlebit.

  • I got a quote yesterday for panels on my roof (in the US). $43,000. Fucking ludicrous

  • I'm the VP so I'd better be able to get away with it lol

  • Research Firm Claims Most cars still cost more to charge than to fill up with gas
  • I'd love to have one too but I live in the city now instead of the suburbs. My car is parked on a concrete pad in the alley behind my house, a good 80 feet from any electricity. I could probably charge at work though by just parking in the warehouse and plugging in to one of the many extension cords we have around.

  • The Witcher producer blames Americans and social media for Netflix series' simplified plot
  • Yep lol it's laughable. Love your user icon, I use the N7 icon for a lot of different services.

  • The Witcher producer blames Americans and social media for Netflix series' simplified plot
  • The games and books seemed to do just fine in America lol

  • The next Battlefield will 'reimagine' the series as a 'truly connected ecosystem'
  • Sound like I'll just be sticking with Battlebit Remastered then.

  • What are you Reading? (August 2023)
  • I'm reading the Wool omnibus from the library before I start watching Silo.

  • Don't overstate 1.5 degrees C threat, new IPCC head says
  • I'd love to install solar panels, I have a flat rubber roof with no tree coverage that's perfect for it. A $35,000 upfront cost is an absolute nonstarter for me. I have it, but that's basically my entire emergency fund. If someone would pay me to have them installed, hell yeah, let's do it.

  • Baldur's Gate 3 is a 122GB download and you can't preload any of it
  • The only games I'll bother keeping installed that are over 100gb are my ESO with all the addons on PC, and Star Wars Battlefront II on PS5, and only because my friends and I play co-op every Friday night. But it's still ludicrous. My most played game recently, Battlebit Remastered, is a whopping 3 GB lol.

  • Baldur's Gate 3 is a 122GB download and you can't preload any of it
  • I was going to install CoD: Cold War from PS+ on my PS5 since I wanted to check out the campaign but I'd never buy it. Fuckin 230 GB for that shit. I lol'd a bit and moved on to something else. So ridiculous.

  • UPS and Teamsters union announce tentative agreement, averting strike
  • We use UPS. I would have had to use USPS, which is the United States Postal Service. They're a LOT slower. Plus my local post office is always crowded and it takes forever.

  • UPS and Teamsters union announce tentative agreement, averting strike
  • I just read the NYT article on my phone and this seems like an exceptional win for the workers. The small business I work at uses UPS exclusively because Fedex charges so much for daily pickup so I would have had to run to USPS every day with a car full of packages but I would have gladly done so until the UPS workers got what they needed. It really looks to me, based on what I read in the article, that UPS didn't really push back too much at the end there.

Raw video: Car crashes into home on Kingston Drive in south St. Louis County (TW: Death)

A Lemay home was heavily damaged when a car crashed into it Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened at around 3 p.m. on Kingston Drive near Telegraph Road.

This took place a few miles from my house. The cause of the crash is unknown but man, she was going fast.

Is gunplay in this game hitscan?

Probably a stupid question, but I had one play session last week and admittedly my buddies and I were drunk, but I recall not being able to hit a damn thing when sniping because I was trying to compensate for bullet drop. Looking at same gameplay videos I assume it's hitscan gunplay (no bullet drop) but I wanted to confirm.

3 People Made A Better Battlefield Game - BattleBit Remastered

Thought I'd share this video by my favorite Battlefield youtuber, LevelCap, sharing his thoughts and criticisms about this game. I haven't gotten to play much of it yet so I can't back up anything he says but I hope to get some more hours in soon on the upcoming holiday weekend.

Is there a better way to hide NSFW content on all/active than checking the "hide adult content" box?

I've checked the box but now that it's blocking properly marked porn, my /active feed is being inundated with what feels like a hundred different "furry" communities and magazines. I'm blocking them as they come up because I'm not into that shit at all but is there an additional filter I can add or is that maybe something that is coming down the pipeline?

There will be a list maintained below of links to Hockey related Communities...

Figured I'd post a link for the thread on the Lemmy Hockey community that is currently building a list of links for all NHL team communities, hope it's allowed here.

How do I block full instances from kbin?

Like, let's say I didn't want to see anything from lemmygrad. I don't actually plan on blocking anything at the moment, but specifically in kbin, how would I go about blocking full instances? Or is that something I can't do? Sorry, I'm still very new and trying to figure this all out.
