That sounds promising. Any idea how I could remote control it, though?
Do you know of a good interface/OS/whatever for it that would allow easily using Jellyfin and Disney+ via a remote control?
I have done that in the past, using a raspberry pi. I was using Plex (Rasplex) back then. The main problem was convenience, mostly with the possibility to have proper remote control from the couch.
For just myself, this could possibly work, but it’s a non-starter for the non technical people in my house. They need a remote control on the couch and the ability to easily open different streaming apps with that.
Alternative to Apple TV/Fire TV stick etc.?
Does anybody know of a proper alternative to Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV sticks, Roku sticks, etc.?
At the moment, I’m still using a Fire TV Stick with my old TV, but ideally, I’d like to replace it with something European. Is there anything?
Requirements are:
- Runs a Jellyfin client
- Apps for typical streaming services like Disney+, which I won’t be able to get rid of yet (I have people in the house who love Disney).
- Wi-Fi, ideally
- remote control so that we can control it easily from the couch
In my opinion, depending on the exact location, OSM is already much better than other map providers. But continuing to improve it obviously is still a great idea.
You can make changes using Organic Maps. It’s also a very good app in general imo. It’s open source, gives you OSM maps offline and has decent navigation. I have switched to it almost fully (from Google and Apple Maps) a while ago already.
