Option for card layout for posts
  • Also, any plans to allow black from the theme hue selector? (Maybe with brightness + saturation sliders?)

  • Option for card layout for posts

As others have mentioned - this is an incredible web client for Lemmy and my favourite among the current options. Just wondering if there are any plans to integrate a card view for posts? Would be great to have the option to toggle between card view and thumbnail/compact mode depending on user preference. Thanks!

Reddit seems to be scrambling behind the scenes to try and limit the effects of the migration. Damage control: ChatGPT bots are spamming pro-admin, astroturfed comments
  • “Huffman […] together with Ohanian launched Reddit in June 2005. Embarrassed by an empty-looking site, the founders created hundreds of fake users for their posts to make it look more populated” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reddit#History

  • What from reddit do you hope to never see on lemmy?
  • The “well it looks like we were able to recover $100,000 from the crime scene” >> “Sure glad we were able to recover $80,000” >> “Looks like we found $20,000”, etc…. on seemingly every thread involving money was pretty insufferable.

  • And the beautiful irony is that in their mission to secure an increased IPO valuation they merely reduced it substantially. Gonna need some more popcorn as we watch them burn it to the ground

  • Agreed. For years I had truly (and naively) believed that Reddit, despite their prior blunders with which we are now all mostly familiar, would maintain an acceptable level of decency and never push things so far as alienate their core userbase. Shot themselves squarely in the foot on this one I think, as their recent changes affect so many.

  • Looks like r/programming discovered the astroturfing, so in true Reddit fashion they simply shut down the subreddit entirely to avoid the spread of negative public sentiment. Thanks for galvanizing my resolve to migrate to the fediverse, Spez

  • [AMA] Hi, I’m /u/spez, CEO of Reddit, coming to you to talk about my recent acquisition of Lemmy and some upcoming changes. Ask me anything!
  • What do you say to people who say “Spez isn’t actually human; Spez is just a greedy little pigboy”?

  • [Request] Option to disable vote swipe gestures
  • Worried that implementing this might be easier said than done since there is no alternative for voting currently, but tapping on the vote icons above comments or adding vote interactions to the long press menu on comments could be potential solutions.

  • Option to disable vote swipe gestures

Hey, firstly - I absolutely love this app. Absolutely wonderful UI+UX, and a huge thank-you for the new OLED dark theme option.

One thing that could improve the UX for some users (myself included) would be a toggle to disable swipe gestures on comments, allowing you to swipe left to right from anywhere on the comments page to return to your feed. If I’m browsing comments holding my phone right handed, and swipe to return I find myself consistently voting unintentionally since the swipe activation area is only a thin section at the left edge of the display. It’s one of the only features I’ve been pining for since the loss of Apollo (I suppose that outs me as a reddit refugee…the horror)

This option is a very minor QOL feature tbh and certainly I understand that many more important features take priority over something like that, but figured I’d make the suggestion nonetheless since it could help accessibility and further refine what is already a quite seamless browsing experience.

Thanks again for an excellent app, devs, and here’s to a bright future for both Lemmy and Memmy 🥳

  • Not sure, I’m still super new with Lemmy. Apparently kbin has something like that, though it makes it a bit pointless if the points aren’t visible and relevant on all lemmy instances. Wish lemmy had a karma-like system. Seems pretty important to further incentivize posting and encourage higher quality posts
