Boeing accepts a plea deal to avoid a criminal trial over 737 Max crashes, Justice Department says
  • I rolled through a stop sign at 3mph several months ago and have to pay ~$500 in fees/traffic school. That’s a much higher hit to me percentage wise as Boeing who literally killed hundreds of people with their shitty planes. Our rules are stupid and broken.

  • China’s AI overload: Baidu CEO warns of too many models, too few applications
  • Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there are too many highly valued startups out there with an AI bent. The gain in stock value has been mostly the big boys. In the dot com era you had tons of hyped IPOs of companies whose stock valuations went to the moon. That doesn’t seem to be the case today.

  • Please Help Reverse This
  • It isn’t supporting any sort of selective breeding program at all, in fact it’s the exact opposite: it’s saying that all people should be raising kids to avoid a situation where the culture nosedives to the lowest common denominator. The supporting characters start coming around towards the end of the movie because they are not inherently stupid, just brainwashed.

    Replacement filter for discontinued vacuum

I have a Eureka upright vacuum and I guess it got discontinued several years ago. I have been unable to find a replacement filter for it now for years, out of stock everywhere. I’ve been cleaning the filter but now the filter has a hole and it needs to be replaced. Anyone know how I can replace the filter? Really don’t want to buy another vacuum and turn my current one into a useless hunk of plastic.

This is the part I can find nowhere:

Hey Lemmy's pretty solid now, thanks devs!

A few weeks ago Lemmy was buggy on computers and there were no good mobile clients out there, now on PC the site is pretty stable and fast, and there are now some pretty good iOS/Android clients too. Thanks to all the people who made this possible!

Why is vote "fuzzing" so extreme?

I've been noticing the number of upvotes on posts fluctuate wildly...from 12, to 350, to 150. Pretty wild swings. I know fuzzing is needed to combat bots, but I had thought it was more like at the few % level, not orders of magnitude...

Lemmy developers: Please fix the scrolling bug ASAP

The site is pretty much unusable because of the individual posts scrolling down within a few seconds of appearing. When can we expect this to be fixed?
