Can hair be straightened permanently?
  • Back in the day I would comb a perm solution through my hair. I’de continue to comb throughout the specified time and then rinse/condition per the box instructions. I recall being happy with the results. Not sure if they still sell at home perm kits, though.

Woman's escape from cinder block cell may have spared others from similar nightmare, FBI says

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A woman who escaped her kidnapper by punching her way out of a homemade cinder block cell at a home in southern Oregon likely saved other women from a similar fate, authorities said, by alerting them to a man they now suspect in sexual assaults in at least four more states.

Negasi Zuberi posed as an undercover police officer when he kidnapped the woman in Seattle, drove hundreds of miles to his home in Klamath Falls and locked her in the garage cell until she bloodied her hands breaking the door to escape, the FBI said Wednesday.

    [DISCUSSION] Oppenheimer (Spoilers)
  • I loved it! Nolan masterfully intertwined timelines, an absolute riveting telling of history. The acting, score, and cinematography were all on point. I miss the days that this caliber of filmmaking wasn’t so few and far between.

  • Tips For Traveling While on Keto?
  • My best advice is to plan ahead (i.e. bring your own snacks).

I’m on the road a lot lately. I pack up a small bag or cooler with cheese sticks, deli-cuts jerky, nuts, boiled eggs, avocado, protein shakes, sugar-free jello, fat-bombs (for times of fire indulgence)…Any combination of these is enough to make a meal or stave off hunger; otherwise, I follow the aforementioned restaurant advise of previous commenters.

    Hope this helps!

  • Reached a solid plateau after 10 kg loss
  • Kudos on your success so far, it’s a great feat and I hope you’re giving yourself the credit and pride you deserve.

I’m actually in the same boat. I started in May, am pleased with the direction I’m headed, but am seemingly lost and frustrated when it comes to these plateaus.

This post I just found in the wild has really helped remind me of what’s actually happening and how to deal with it logically. It is a marathon, not a sprint- I hope it’ll help you, too and that we both keep on keepin’ on with the wins!

  • On Weight-Loss Plateaus
  • Thank you for this. I find myself incredibly frustrated during plateaus despite knowing a lot of this, especially about water and keeping it “right and tight.”

Seeing this post has really shaken me back into reality; I realize I can choose to take a logical (and healthier) approach, rather than forcing myself to go even more extreme.

I’m aiming to lose a significant amount of weight and I remain concerned about the hit/toll the deficit is taking on my metabolism. What you write (and linked to) about returning to maintenance has helped solidify a solid and smart way of dealing. Much appreciated, thanks again.

The megalodon, a huge shark that was the scourge of the ancient oceans and is a star in modern movie theaters, is named for its "large tooth" - and for good reason. Its serrated teeth - up to about 7 inches long (18 cm) - could tear through any prey in the deep blue sea.
