What hobby of yours do you wish more people were into?
  • This has inspired me. My Instant Pot has been throwing a lot of errors lately, I bet I can rig something up...

  • Jar sizes for storing flower
  • I dry vape, so I'm also planning on getting 5 ml jars to store ground bud in. ~4 of those inside of a Pelican 1050 Micro Case (already have this, might be better options if I didn't), in with my vape and other supplies.

If a humidity pack inside of the Pelican would help, I think it's about 1 L empty volume.

  • Alternative to Google Sheets for a daily table
  • You might like Treesheets, but you're not going to be able to edit it on mobile with it. You'd have to save as HTML to view. It's a grid-based editor that I use for stuff like this.

  • Jar sizes for storing flower

I am probably overthinking this, but I'm looking to get a set of decent jars for storing flower and don't want to end up with a bunch of jars that are too big or too small. I could use some advice on appropriate sizes.

Picking two random vendors, these are quantities they have and the jar size I guessed would be appropriate for that amount. Are these pretty close?

    | Quantity | Jar Size | |----------|---------------------| | 1 g | 15 ml | | 2 g | 30 ml | | 3.5 g | 50 ml | | 4 g | 50 ml | | 7 g | 100 ml | | 8 g | 100 ml | | 14 g | 250 ml | | 16 g | 250 ml | | 28 g | 500 ml |

  • Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this image. Now there is a whole train of men masturbating together at this one image. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW

  • r/Android is now on the Fediverse!
  • My impression of Reddit and Reddit mods was that everyone was inexperienced, childlike, and toxic. Lemmy, so far, seems like a more mature audience. I rather like the Reddit subreddits moving to their own community, separate from what has been created in Lemmy already. I do not wish to have the Reddit experience over here. I stopped using Reddit for a reason.

  • Sync for Reddit would let you add flair to users so you could add your own notes. If Sync for Lemmy does that then it will take the instance into account. I'll just add notes to people I trust and Sync will be my verification.

  • K9-Mail becoming Thunderbird
  • I hope the K9 developer will start listening to the users. I used to use K9 until it got dumbed down and the navigation made much less efficient. Users complained and the developer doubled down. I, and many others, just gave up on the app entirely since it didn't work for my workflow anymore.

  • Is the goal to keep the poop inside your body? If it's allowed to come out and play, you could blend it with gatorade and consume it as soon as possible to minimize time spent outdoors.

  • What stupid conspiracy theories do you think will come out of the missing submarine?
  • The submarine is staying down there because the pilot knows the Canadian wildfires are going to set the atmosphere on fire. They need to outlast the fire and repopulate the earth with the DNA they found on silverware from Titanic survivors.

  • Confirming this is the real ljdawson
  • This is exactly what the fake ljdawson would say 🤔

  • Reddit admins removing the NSFW tags from subs with porn in them
  • Hey! As an idiot myself, I take a fence.

  • Sync for Reddit developer is making Sync for Lemmy
  • Sigh...I just put on new underwear too.

  • Which alternative search engines do you use?
  • Not OP, but as a data point, I do approximately 2000-2500 searches per month. I'm obviously on the unlimited plan (an early adopter version of it). I'm in software development so I search a lot.

  • Announcement: Embracing a New Chapter: Towards a Community-Guided Direction and Accepting Donations
  • What is excess now may be needed later. I'd rather have it stashed away in case there are unexpected server expenses or something.

  • Google is getting a lot worse because of subreddits being private
  • I have been a Kagi subscriber for about a year and a half now. It is so much better than Google and DDG and everything else I've tried. It took a while for me to bite the bullet and pay, but now I'm paying for the year up front (for a nice discount, too). I would be very disappointed if I had to use another engine. They've even implemented a few feature requests I've had. That would never happen with Google.

With the rewrite rules, lenses, custom bangs, and domain raising/lowering, I get exactly what I need out of search.

It feels weird to pay at first, but it's a great service.
