ELI5: Why did LED notification lights silently got removed from phone?

  • I don’t believe the iPhone ever had an LED notification light. The iPhone existed well before the watch did, as well.

  • I’m curious whether or not “carrier connection” includes prepaid mobile plans or if it’s shorthand for “contract-only”.
