After all, how far inland could a hurricane go?
  • A drought in south america has caused out of control wildfires that dumped 210 megatons of CO2 in the atmosphere, this year alone.

That's just from wildfires in one continent. Now add it to all the CO2 produced in one year.

The runaway effects are becoming more evident and unfortunately people will have to finally give up on huge swaths of land or be killed. Save the planet, hang a CEO

  • I moved from California to Texas but only stayed 4 months. Texas isn't much cheaper, and everyone was politics-obsessed.
  • No, again, both sides are not the same because that, 'regardless of reality.' is not the same for both. Democrats aren't aborting live babies. That is made up. Trump separated children from their families at the border and killed them. That is a fact.

The reason both sides are not the same is easy just follow the money. Who owns what and who do they support, both here and abroad?

  • I'm sorry but this false equivalence is BS. Conservatives are eating propaganda happily and there is definitely liberal propaganda. But nobody is making up the awful things conservatives are embracing in vast majorities worldwide. You don't need to make anything up to find awful things in the right, the way the right is making things up about liberals.

  • Bluesky has gained a million new users in the last three days.
  • 'speech' is just what modern king wannabes use to claim they are above anyone else, including a sovereign state's laws. People like Elon, Trump, Putin all want to be above any law or form of responsibility.

  • I don't know exactly what to call it and I don't want to sound like my agenda is just anti-capitalism. For a brief, 250yr period, humanity (not all, but enough of) valued science and reasoned law as the highest, most advanced expressions of our civilization. The enlightenment age brought about modernity as we know it based on science and liberal law (no kings above the law). Now we've devolved back to every nation basically establishing new oligarchich aristocracies no law can touch (the historic normal), and it's definitely too late to correct course. No untouchable nobilities or kings will save this realm. So yeah, the great filter in my view is about letting elites be accountable to no one, with no interest other than accretion, rule things into the ground. And yeah that's the broad gist of my point about a pretty broad theory. Most think the great filter as an asteroid or nuke. For me it's runaway elitism that probably ends most civilizations which is why there's no one out there.

  • Is anyone else highly concerned with the SCOTUS ruling that the POTUS is immune from criminal liability?
  • All this shit is literally straight out of the Putin playbook. Take control of the courts, take control of what is legal, take control of elections. Republicans were always too dumb and incompetent to be anything but pawns of a better organized evil.

  • The Supreme Court just made a massive power grab it will come to regret
  • This is the bottom line plan. The end of the nation state of law and the beginning of corporate nationhood. Just like democracies replaced monarchies, the supreme clergy is now ushering the new age of corporate states. Corporate nationhood is modern monarchy, which goes hand in hand with the Christian Caliphate they are also building.
