r/GlobalOffensive's stance on the current situation
  • fix that is to build something ourselves

Open the subreddit with limited discussions. Side by side develop this platform. You have an audience base of 1M, why waste it. Instead, reroute them creatively.

  • I think the reason many people are ending up here is exactly because of its similarity to reddit.

Nope. I came up here due to the link advertised on the subreddit page.

Most of the issues with kbin can be easily fixed as well.

Maybe. Time is a resource. There's very big 'can' there.

  • Look, the only way this protest is gonna get anywhere is if there's a legit ALTERNATIVE to Reddit. Let's face it.

Discord? Come on, it's a hot mess for browsing content. It's way too easy to miss stuff from other channels. Reddit makes it a breeze to find this content cause you can just upload clips/gameplay or a content piece.

And good luck trying to navigate Discord to upload these clips. There's no upvote incentive, so why bother? So no, Discord ain't a replacement for Reddit. All this blackout on the sub is doing is cutting down on the CS2 chatter, and that ain't good for the game.

And don't even get me started on Kbin. It's an even worse alternative to Reddit than Discord, if you can believe it. So, no, Kbin ain't the answer either. We gotta do better, period.

  • I mean how difficult is it to read basic English

I use Reddit to unwind after a hard day's work, and this subreddit was my favorite.

and yeah keep destorying the awesome community. Hopefully these guys are back by the time cs2 releases, else its just freepass for some low quality subreddits

  • To Mods: Respect the Community, Reinstate Our Subreddit!
  • Building a new community would be a dumb idea. In fact, there's already an alternate subreddit and they ate up the audience.(170% increase in last week). Its not about if you'll do this, that'll happen and blah blah. Downvote me all you want but thats the reality. What difference 1M community makes to reddit? Nothing!

Mods still have not replied on why there wasn't any vote if they were going to close the subreddit.

  • To Mods: Respect the Community, Reinstate Our Subreddit!
  • Buggy UI, slow af site, and stupid Cloudflare.

Why should I migrate. Someone else will create a subreddit with different name, Discussions will continue. Jeopardizing an entire community for something tha'll never happen/

  • To Mods: Respect the Community, Reinstate Our Subreddit!

Frankly, Even I hate nonsense Reddit API updates that have almost put third-party apps out of business. I'm more than happy with the two-day blackout as a mark of protest. But sealing off our subreddit forever? That's ridiculous! We're a community of just over a million. There several of us back online, yet we arent.

The mods are on some power trip, making decisions without consulting us subscribers. How about a vote? Let us have a say in this! It's an absolute mockery!

I use Reddit to unwind after a hard day's work, and this subreddit was my favorite. But remember, if you don't value us, someone else will.

Wake up from your delusion! For heaven's sake, do right by your subscribers and bring the subreddit back online!

Edit: @mods, you are yet to answer why there's no vote if you really want to Jeopardize this subreddit for a cause. A fair vote should be there if we made this subreddit into what it is today. Be kind and open.

Edit 2: Still no answer from mods. Why wasn't there a vote? I hope you don't consider yourself to be the flag bearer. Downvote me all you want but there's already a subreddit easily eating up your audience.

Edit 3: Yet no answer from mods. Why there was no vote? Are you guys flagbearers of the community?

  • I can understan the bs reddit API update, almost killing the third party apps. I can also understand a two day blackout. But closing off the subreddit to an eternity is a complete joke. We were only 1M odd peeps.

Mods just glorifying themselves without even consulting the subscribers. Create a vote and and then decide based on the outcome. Has to be a joke ngl.

I for one enjoy reddit post work stress hours. This subreddit used to be my favorite. Remember that if not you then someone else will find a way.

Dont be delusional and for the sake of subscribers, please go online.
