How do you store and/or organize your audio cables?
Looking for storage solutions. Small cables I've been labelling gallon plastic bags and throwing them in a drawer. I've got a drawer for power cables, a drawer for balanced cables. Instrument cables I have hanging on a coat rack, lol. I feel like there has to be a better way. What do you guys do?
Plans include putting a pedal board together. Bought a pedal train board from Sweetwater earlier this year on one of the big holiday sales and it’s just been sitting. Really all I need to do is put the Velcro on it. I did find out that it doesn’t fit the standard power brick on the underside because it is low profile. So eventually I might try to sell the pose brick and get a couple low profile power supplies. For now, I have enough room to put it on top because the pedal train is huge lol. And I don’t have too many pedals at this point. So that and practicing with my new Peak synth are my goals this week. And a little studio clean up and organizing.
Just got a Novation Peak
Finally got this after years of waiting. I’ve had a couple monosynths but eventually realized I wanted a poly synth. I’ve used VSTs but mostly presets. How should I go about learning to program the synth? Just make tracks? Improvise? Syntorial? I’m interested in modern “IDM” type music like Rival Consoles, Jon Hopkins, Lapalux, floating Points, Four tet, etc. I went to undergrad and grad school for music, classical, jazz studies, lots of theory, piano lessons. Much more green with actually finishing independent electronic music tracks. I have Ableton and Logic. I’ve done a lot more in Logic recording bands and demos. Just recently got Ableton. I’m controlling Peak with Novation SLMKIII. Got a bunch of other instruments but only this one synth. Thanks.
Anyone completed this? Has it helped you make music faster?
