Looks yummy 😋
Thank you! Seems nice so far, I'm gonna continue digging to see if I find things I like
What's the condescending attitude for? 🤨 I legit don't know a single thing about the platform, my bad for asking recommendations as a new user like the normal average Joe?
So... what's the best mastodon server to join as a new user?
I just downloaded the app to see what's all the hype about, and once again, I'm asked to pick a group, in this case, a server.
I suppose it's like Lemmy instances, so, is there a general one, or an equivalent of lemmy.world in terms of size, interaction, and so on?
My mistake if I'm understanding things wrong, thanks!
The last point is important, especially because I see people here mocking those who aren't as tech-knowledgeable than them for knowing the ABC of privacy and technology. How are you going to get more people to join if you aren't willing to listen why they're struggling to adapt to a platform like lemmy, and you think your POV is the only valid one? How do you expect to avoid echo-chambers when you're being condescending towards potential users? I swear, people just have worms for brains.
Yup. This is the exact problem I have with them. Most apps look kind of outdated, finding one with nice UI/UX is like finding gold.
Right! I didn't know about it. It makes me wonder about which other things I don't know because people don't share it thinking it's common knowledge.
Getting a notification when somebody replies to you.
Funny you say that, I find Jerboa to be awful and it was the reason I didn't want to move here until I found other apps lol. To each their own I guess!
Currently bouncing between connect, summit, and thunder. I like connect the most so far!
Both actually. I will prioritise FOSS if there's something that catches my attention, but usually just piracy.
I was apprehensive about lemmy myself since I downloaded the Jerboa for lemmy app, thinking that it was the official app, and I loathed it and also couldn't understand half of the stuff people were talking about. The whole thing just put me off because the user interface was atrocious and it all felt convoluted. But since people from the piracy subs were more active on lemmy, I read more about it, got the gist of it, and now I'm here.
Keep in mind I'm not an expert in piracy, rather a noob, but still interested in it. I'm just learning as I go, essentially lmao
I think people there will eventually migrate when they notice that the audience is more active here. Personally, I still use reddit, as well as lemmy, but because I know that the other non-tech subs I'm in won't move here. Not a lot of options left, it is what it is 🥴
I think it still hasn't been released for Android
Swiftkey gal here. I've gotten so used to Swiftkey that now I find it hard to adapt to other keyboards lol :s
Moon Reader Pro is the only one so far that hasn't hurt my eyes with the UI design. You can see the cover, your progress, and it supports different formats, including epub and pdf.
Lol not trying to be snarky here but is that true or is it a way to get people here to comment and boost posts?
