What's some great software / website / services you've discovered recently?
  • Raycast for Mac has become by far my most used utility recently. I’m normally against “Swiss army knife” apps that do everything, but Raycast does everything so well that it’s replaced almost every extra utility I had.

  • Replacicon is awesome for automatically replacing app icons. IntelliJ IDEA, Firefox (until a recent update) and some other apps had icons that just looked terrible on my dock, and I hated manually replacing the icons after each update.

  • This speed you all are developing this app is astounding, excellent work!

I’m curious about a Mac version of Mlem as well. I took a quick glance and it looks like the only issue would be some UIKit dependencies and some iOS-only styling. I might take a stab at a crappy port someday.

  • My S5 experience

I ordered the S5 in February 2023 and, after a few delays, finally received it in June 2023.

Compared to my outgoing S3, the riding experience was much better. The motor and e-shifter felt seamless, and the torque sensor made tackling Seattle hills less janky.

Unfortunately, the electronics started failing quickly. The issues I had were:

    • Apple Find My wouldn't pair
    • The heavy duty rear rack's light never worked
    • The integrated rear light stopped working shortly after the picture
    • Touch unlock wouldn't work

I brought it into the Seattle brand store where it has now been stuck for 2 weeks awaiting parts. The staff at the store are great, I just wish the quality control was better.

    Oh well.
