Hey all!
  • Welcome! Excited to get things going in this community. Lemmy seems to get more active by the day! Working on any projects in particular?

  • Love this series. Richard is the best.

  • Opinions on the Series S? How much "worse" is it than the X?
  • You will notice a decrease in performance on the Series S. It really just depends on how much you are willing to spend. It's hard to say how much of a difference there will be because every game and developer is different. I play MSFS on the Series X but have not tried it on my Series S yet. I would expect a decreased resolution on the Series S or some other measure of decreased performance. Maybe less anti-aliasing? However, the Series S is an unbeatable Gamepass machine for super cheap. As I mentioned below, I got my second Series S for $100 on Facebook Marketplace. Have a look at some YouTube videos that discuss this very topic. Here is a direct graphics comparison for MSFS!

  • I have both a Series X and two Series S consoles and bounce between them frequently depending on where I am. The Series S is a completely capable machine and I love it. If playing on a 4k screen, the Series S may have a decreased resolution (depending on how the developer made the game) as opposed to the Series X output, but it really isn't a big deal for me. For example, playing Insurgency Sandstorm is sharper on my Series X, but the same game's decreased resolution on my Series S doesn't affect my gameplay at all. But if you are on 1080p displays, you may not notice much of a difference at all! I would totally buy the Series S. It's just such a fantastic deal and such a cheap way to get into GamePass games. I bought one of my Series S consoles on Facebook Marketplace for $100. That's an insane deal.

  • Comfort games?
  • Hardspace: Shipbreaker can be a super relaxing game. You sit back and slowly disassemble massive spaceships in a salvaging yard. I love playing it when I want something mindless but relaxing. It's nice sitting alone in the salvaging yard with the catchy music and slicing apart a bulkhead.

    Here from Reddit

Visiting here from Reddit's r/arduino before the June 12th blackouts. Really liking how Lemmy operates but notice the Arduino community here is less than sparse. Given time, hopefully we can build this community for Arduino enthusiasts who are displeased with Reddit as a platform. I hope to see this place grow over time!

I haven't been a part of the Arduino subreddit for very long - but I've never seen "Africa" performed with stepper motors before! If nothing else, check out the post lower in this community!

Can anyone suggest me a game that includes travel and is preferably not open world? Details inside...
  • Also Far: Changing Tides came out recently as well. It's the sequel to Far: Lone Sails. You'd like both of these, I think.

  • 📣 Apollo will close down on June 30th. Reddit’s recent decisions and actions have unfortunately made it impossible for Apollo to continue. Thank you so, so much for all the support over the years. ❤️
  • The first one to fall, unfortunately. The conversation the Apollo Dev had with the admins seemed pretty bleak. I'm slowly accepting that Reddit needs to die. As a Redditor, we built it. We can kill it.
