Assassin's Creed Mirage will take 25-30 hours to complete – and that's if you're a completionist
  • I seem to have a differing opinion here but I love long games if it is actually full of good content.

I don't play games with micro transactions and find a lot of open world games to be full of time wasters. If that's all it is then sure cut that out.

But with games costing $70 I would feel like I wasted my money for only a 10+ hour experience like some comments are wanting. That can be done in a single day. Assassin Creed games really aren't meant to be replayed either.

Games with lots of replayabilty are such good value and keep me entertained for hundreds or even thousands of hours. Games like Civilization, Persona 5, Zelda, Elder Scrolls, GTA, Metal Gear, old school Final Fantasy, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Xcom, Command and Conquer, Colonization, etc.

Maybe it's more a sign of modern games being full of stuff that isn't fun? Boring extremely limited NPC's, lots of wandering with nothing to do but collect some useless thing. In that case I agree with all the other comments but instead of wishing for a shorter game I would wish for a better game that is fun to play for long periods of time.

  • Any change today?
  • Apollo is the only way I have ever used Reddit for all these years. If it's dead it's the same as if Reddit is dead to me. I don't even know my login info and don't have that email anymore.

  • Did Karma really matter that much in Reddit?
  • It also encouraged dumb posts. I could post a long informative comment answering a question directly and get a couple upvotes.

Then if I posted something stupid like "never insult the mac and cheese" it got over 5,000 upvotes and awards.

  • RIP RIF
  • The developer of Apollo said Reddit cut them off unexpectedly but he was able to make it stop crashing by deleting his token. He can no longer access anything now but at least you can go into the app.

  • RIP RIF
  • I was hoping he put something special in like a countdown with that last update. Or that you could still open it and see something. App is totally dead.

Update: Apparently Reddit killed all the third party apps themselves early. Probably knowing we would comment only to protest and complain.

  • I've seen a few discussions about the "failed" protests and wanted to talk about it
  • Yes that is my concern as well. There seems to be an Elon effect for CEOs where they are thinking they can say and do whatever and it will barely affect them.

I am just one person but I don't want to contribute to their egos and harmful behavior.

  • Ripples Through Reddit as Advertisers Weather Moderators Strike
  • Keep the blackout for at least two weeks then. That's when Reddit will start to care.

I am fine never going back personally, and I was on Reddit hours every day for the past 8 years. Especially once kbin and lemmy get further along. It was such a waste of time.
