I don't suppose there are SHOES I could BFL?
  • $60 is still pricy enough that it's probably worth it to just learn how to resole boots by hand.

    I can't imagine you would need much equipment for it, although I've only resoled leather sandals and those just needed shoe adhesive, a leatherworking needle, and some heavy-duty nylon thread.

  • You technically only need kosher salt if the recipe involves some of kind of fermentation or yeast rise, because the iodine in non-kosher salt will kill the yeast before it can rise.

  • Is there any evidence that Reddit has suffered at all from the exodus to Lemmy?
  • I had pretty much the same experience migrating from Reddit to Lemmy and I still don't entirely understand how this thing works.

    I'm still trying to figure out if I need to make an account on each Lemmy instance to reserve my username, since this is already my second account after fmhy.ml stopped working.

  • Yep, measuring by weight is the only way to get consistent results for bread dough.

    The density of flour seems to change based on weather and humidity levels, so trying to measure by volume is pointless.
