Well, I thought Robert's striking was much better than DDP as well - and it even looked better! But we all just saw what happened... Somehow, he just keeps pulling it off.

This is maybe only semi related, but it reminds of something I was thinking the other day, which is how much Futurama (like all sci-fi taking place in the future, I suppose) is affected in thought by the technology of its own time, to the point it might look weird or confusing for us or people in the future.
The main thing I'm talking about is the internet. The show started before the internet really took off and became as ubiquitous as today. Just yesterday, I was rewatching a season 3 episode (can't remember which) where Hermes' son and Cubert create a newspaper delivering company, and suddenly it hit me how that's not really something you see today, and almost certainly not something most kids now are going to be familiar with.
Anyway, it's not exactly a big deal or even the best example, perhaps, but it got me thinking.
I understand why some people would want to do this, but there's a lot of stuff there that I would hate to be gone forever.
There's an old game - I always forget which game it is until it happens again - that I play once every few years, but which always gives me problems when installing or starting for the first time. And every time I looked for a solution, I always ended up in the same Reddit thread; one with a solution that always worked. After I landed there a few times, I even left a comment thanking them for it.
I don't so much want Reddit gone forever, as I just want for there to be more competition and for users to be spread out. Or, maybe even better, for there to be a searchable archive of Reddit.
For me, that game would definitely be Disco Elysium. I've never connected with a game as much as with that one. I'm actually reticent of playing it again for fear of it not living up to the first experience; I felt like my first playthrough was perfect, even if technically speaking it wasn't.
Other than that, I also still think about Mass Effect a fair bit.
On a side note: if you liked the investigating and "detective-ing" of Outer Wilds, then you will probably also enjoy Return of the Obra Dinn, The Forgotten City, and The Case of the Golden Idol. I'd also add Disco Elysium to that list, but be aware it's a lot more text heavy.
Also everything takes long right now. Servers are strained.

I was just wondering, is this also why when I look at https://lemmy.pt/c/portugal through Beehaw I can't see posts, and it says there is only one subscriber (which is me)? I also noticed that after searching for a specific post I could then see it through Beehaw, but it still said there are no comments. Does it eventually update automatically?
I have to be off now, so thanks in advance for any information anyone can give me!
I haven't heard of Bookwyrm (I'll probably check it out after this) but since you mentioned it, I did want to take this opportunity to shout out The StoryGraph! I've not seen it being talked about much, unfortunately, but I've been using it for a while (even made an account, which I didn't use with Goodreads), and so far I really like it and have nothing bad to say!
