Games to play while waiting for release
  • Not the same style but Baldur’s Gate 3 has had me fixed since it released, and honestly I’m worried about Starfield coming out and how the eff I’m gonna finish either of them at any point before my ADHD brain burns out

  • Coming to you soon...
  • Vinegar is a Safari extension for iOS that turns the YouTube media player into a generic iOS one, completely bypassing all of these restrictions. I’m not savvy enough to know if it’s something Google can kill or not, but it’s working great for me right now. Even lets you do PiP and background play.

  • What is your favorite new word for Tweets?
  • I heard “Xclamations” somewhere which I will admit is somewhat clever. Too long though. And also “X” sucks. “Twitter” and “tweet” are way too iconic and this was a terrible move. Musk’s reputation is what’s killing the service, not the branding. The name and logo were a couple of the only things the creators got right in the first place.

  • Build a personal Steam-like gaming platform for your video game collection
  • As a guy who has a lot of experience with old emulated Nintendo games and things like that, I keep a bunch of ROMs on a cloud storage service for backup. But all those files add up and eat storage space. For a service like this, do you just have the installers themselves stored for easy installing/uninstalling? How big are those files, for storage purposes? I have a lot of PC games, but, you know, I don’t like paying for all of them. Are you able to have tons of “alternative” Steam games or does storage space run out quick?

  • Google raising price of YouTube Premium to $13.99 per month
  • Anybody on this thread on iOS, check out Vinegar. It’s a Safari extension for YouTube that converts the YT media player to a generic iOS one, removing ads and allowing PiP and other stuff. Best 2-ish bucks I’ve ever spent.

  • How many Lemmy users are non-technical background?
  • I’m a pilot, certified flight instructor. Not professionally techy, but like techy stuff as a nerdy pastime. Lemmy’s honestly not that complicated, you just need to be willing to put up with the bugs and growing pains. I’m enjoying the ride so far!

  • What is your favorite Mastodon client?
  • Been trying to use Ice Cubes due to it being free and open-source, but I feel like it’s just way too slow to load up new posts, making using Mastodon feel like a chore. Anybody else experience this? Is paying for Ivory worth it as an alternative?

  • With Exclusive PC Partnerships, Everyone Loses

apple.news With exclusive PC partnerships, everyone loses — Digital Trends

AMD announced it would be the exclusive PC partner for Starfield, and that could set a dangerous precedent.

Is there a way to auto set theme based on system?

It’s the one thing keeping me from really committing to this app, having to manually switch themes when it turns night or day.
